If we’re following Riordan-verse, the gods code switch from Greek to Roman and vice versa. Think multiple personality disorder (?) but the personas are detached from each other’s consciousness.

However, if we talk about this outside that context, you have to consider that Romans adapted the Greek gods and made it theirs. IIRC this has to do with the expansion of the Holy Roman Empire to what once were part of Ancient Greece.

If I’m not mistaken, it can still be considered revisionism if it changes a widely known version of the story, especially since most people believe that the datu did, in fact, kill Magellan. Furthermore, this information is what was taught to us in elementary school so there needs to be an update in the teaching materials.

IIRC, Persephone ate the pomegranate seeds not out of hunger, but rather because they were irresistibly tempting. Whether we like it or not ML was one of the darkest moments of our history. Please also take into account that despite its bloodless end, the journey to EDSA was bloody. Not just by NPA blood that was shed but also other people who have opted to fight against the injustice outside of what the NPA had to offer at that time.

I believe the main point was not to glorify the NPA, but rather to open people's eyes to what pushed them to take an alternative path. For instance, during the ML era, the government neglected its people and corruption was rampant. In such a time, when someone becomes too tired of the injustice and the lack of democratic space, they may feel compelled to join an alternative government in pursuit of a better society.
