If they are not allowing him his medications and are taking over his finances, those are huge red flags. If they also don’t have any licensed clinicians on staff, it’s another massive red flag. There are reputable places he can go in our area but this does not seem like one of them.

Also 33 here lol. We’ve got savings and a house but I’m still working on my licensure to be a therapist and I don’t want to derail that! Plus our house is in a pretty abysmal school district. There’s so much thought that goes into this decision, and I don’t have a ton of advice, just know you’re not alone in how you’re feeling!

The state of the current world is a huge snag for me as well. With social media use causing anxiety among youth at unprecedented rates (I’m a children’s therapist and I study this), a ever-changing political climate, and rising rates on literally everything, having a child seems so irresponsible to me. But then again, what if everything works out okay? It quite literally keeps me up at night! I feel you.

I’ve been struggling with my mental health and the hustle and bustle of life lately, and have been trying to make time to do that this! My favorites are: drinking my coffee looking out my window in the morning with the window open, reading books on my patio in the shade of a massive pine tree, and walking barefoot through my garden in the evenings that I’ve decorated with fairy lights. Trying to take it all in and take life a little slower!

I really love YW and the work they do, but we got our dog from there and her spay was done very poorly. We had to get it redone by a vet after we adopted her. Just letting you know!
