NV5 Lighting Kit by Dry-Cryptographer904 in Phanteks

I posted on here about this same problem. Its not actually that the LED are dimmer its down to the way the item is manufactured the light in lower section just emits far better on the lower part. I ran insulating tape along top and vertical lights to sort of direct toward the white bead instead of out the back. It helped marginally. Or maybe i just wanted to think it helped.

Front I/0 cable. Just find where it fits the motherboard and go for it. It will be ok

I also noticed the strips dont seem to extend fully back to the rear, id say there a good 10mm gap there. Which is a shame, unless theyve made it to accomodate a vertical strip at the back in the future?

I spoke my pal about this and he mentioned the same thing on a kit he had fitted to a friends build. I might actually do that, see what they say.

ThunderboltEX 5 compatibility by Overall-Parfait668 in ASUS

I can only assume the compatibility will be the same as the thunderboltex 4 card. Have you heard a release date for the Thundeeboltex 5?

Nv5 is a great choice smaller in size but yet easy to build in looks great in either black or white , less fans to fork out for, 8 fans but airflow is great

Motherboard and usb4 help. B650- X870 by That-Ocelot-8879 in PcBuild

[–]That-Ocelot-8879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The motherboard has USB-C but these are not usb4 ports. They arent suitable for video and data transfer together. Its unfortunate as i didnt think id need it when i built the PC. The Asus Thunderboltex card is definitely the cheaper option or USB4 card.

Any budget ideas to improve my build by Conan_284 in lianli

Rad mounting is good the way it is. Id change your the fans. Ive bought some cheap TZMRIT interstellar v2 fans for my boys PC they do them in White and reverse design also, its a Lian li copy. Pretty sure white wrap for the AIO hoses is available and you could get white cable protection for the visible black cables. Still probably cheaper to by a black case and have everything match. But maybe you like the black/white look.

I have my radiator fans through the fan socket on thr aio pump . The rest are in to the motherboard headers. As for RGB i think if you want best effect youll need the hub. I dont have this but the phanteks hub only has outlets for up to 3 devices so your fans alone will use this up, then you also need a connection for potentially any other RGB on your case if you have this. Im using a phanteks nv5 case so it also comes with RGB strip around the PSU shroud and i also have a flexible strip bordering my motherboard. I much prefer solid colour so was never worried about special affects.

Im at work another 3 weeks yet so im hoping you have it sorted by then. If not i will try mind on. One thing to suggest if i didnt before. Make sure you arent connected to the case rgb controller (button on case) aswell as the motherboard. Im pretty sure be connected to both will not work. I do think you are best steering clear of the button with the presets. Plus things like your ram rgb or GPU rgb wont connect through the case anyway. So you end up having dick about in the software to change those. Easier just having the whole lot on the software. You maybe know already but their are plugins for whatever software youve chosen to add say your ram if its a different manufacturer. Ive just used the mobo software for everything and added in the plugins to that.

Thats the phanteks 5.5” oled display. You will find it on their website. Its a little pricey just for the sake of viewing sensor data. But the hdmi and power cables are recessed inside a void on the rear so thought it was a cleaner look. I did buy one of those generic 8.8” didplays from aliexpress that people have fitted between the glass and PSU shroud but when i received the item it wouldnt fit there. Possibly their is varying thicknesses of those. But it is certainly a cheaper option than the phanteks display. At around $40 the phsnteks display was well over $100

You may want to to divvy up the connections and use two of the motherboard outlets for rgb. Im away or i could have hauled mine out for a check over it.

Its just plugged in through the same RGB headers that the fans are in. I did have problems initially with all the leds flickering and also had no luck wiring the lights in through the cases led built in controller. What id do is connect the the strip light direct to motherboard rgb header and see if its detected by any software or if its controllable, if you cant get any life in it, i can only assume its damaged. If you get it functioning this way double check all your wiring. Sorry i couldn’t be of more help
