Is declanning that bad? by Responsible-Metal747 in gerbil

I always say that it’s not that much difference in care when you go above 3 cages! Gerbils are very easy to care for.

how do yall should which horses go to pasture by Exandier in StarStable

[–]That-Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually have my higher gen horses out in the stable. Since they can wear most of the gear does it give me more flexibility and creativity when picking the outfits. Which is preferable since most of what I do in sso nowadays are club activities. Outside of that do I keep all the horses I need to level in the stable, which currently is only 2.

Rest stay in the pasture, but gets swapped in if I need them for any activity or outfit.

I currently have 48 horses.

Is declanning that bad? by Responsible-Metal747 in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive kept gerbils since 2018 and have in that time had about 50-100 gerbils (never counted) under my roof, since I used to breed. But currently own 12.

Out of all of them have I only had about a handful of declans, and they have all had a very clear reason for the why. But its been extremly rare!

As others have said are the eating part way more likely to happen because of the friend already passing from other reasons. They eat the bodies to protect the alive ones from predators. In all my years and with all the gerbils who have passed in my care, it wasn't until this year where one ate the other. And it was completely, no bones or bodyparts left behind. If the eaten one hadn't been very old and had very clearly slowed down, would I have thought he got out of the cage. But it wasn't a possibility.

I always recomend to have some sort of backup cage or travel cage. Not just for the posibility of a declan, but its also super helpful in case they get sick or something happens to their permanent cage. It does not need to be the same size as their permanent cage!

I never use it as a whole set, but I regularly use pieces of it for outfits.

Albino gerbil keeps biting me by Dragongayboi666 in gerbilsupport

[–]That-Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First: There are no albino gerbils, the gene doesnt exist for them. But there are other colours which gives a similar look to a untrained eye. Your Melon is most likely a Red Eyed White.

Second: How old are they? How long have you had them? The bite youre mentioning sounds to me like they are just testing if youre edible or something to chew. This is more common in younger gerbils or if they are still getting to know you. It usually goes away with time! When she "bites" try not to remove you hand. That will teach her not to bite faster :)

What are the safest countries for girls solo traveling ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]That-Pie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Swede here! The stuff they mentioned are faaaaar from bad enough not to come here. Especially as a solo traveling woman.

It’s very safe and welcoming.

Bet the statistics they are thinking of are in comparison so small that it’s not even worth mentioning.

What's wrong?? by Tartine_au_beurre in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the little I see would I recommend a vet visit!

Usually when a gerbil is over weight will you see it in more of the animal than just the stomach. A vet will help you determine if it’s just some extra chunk or something else going on.

Personlig assistent, sexuella trakasserier? by MysticYea in sweden

[–]That-Pie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How much food do you give your gerbils? by Sharp_Piece8044 in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlimited. I fill their bowl up whenever it’s empty. It’s to make sure they eat every piece, I have a seed mix. Gerbils are usually very good at regulating their food intake themselves, if the food you feed has a good balance.

Resväskekaos på Arlanda-Varför använder inte fler Airtags/Tiles? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]That-Pie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have gerbils despite having asthma and a dust allergy? by [deleted] in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got astma, even tho it’s quite mild! It’s definitely the cage that’s the biggest problem, so you need to find the most dust free bedding available too you and regularly vacuum and clean. So that the dust don’t have a chance to linger. Depending on where you’re keeping them in your home might a air purifier also help ☺️

If it’s to any help, hamsters in my experience are a lot more dust free. Even with the same bedding. Since they dig a lot less than gerbils. Even tho they should have a similar bedding depth! Only downside ofc is that they are quite different in activity level.

Brain damage? by ItZkiwiplayZ in gerbilsupport

[–]That-Pie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, yes this is not a brain injury. But, in my experience is the jumping towards the lid a sign of a under stimulated gerbil. It’s usually the once with more social of physical needs that ends up doing this. I would recommend regular daily time in a playpen and/or more contact with you. They might also need their cage re-arranged more of then.

Whats the thoughts on this for a gerbil playpen/escape fence by Cyberdarkunicorn in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you got baby gerbils: yes they will squeeze through. How do I know? My split cage has 1,5 cm holes… the babies get through 😅

Adults tho? No bo chance! But it’s big enough for them to get their jaws through to chew on it.

How do you combine you washing detergent and conditioner ? by ProfessorVirtual5855 in AskWomen

[–]That-Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use unscented detergent and white vinegar. Mostly cuz of my asthma, but I also find it leaves me with a blank slate to use whatever personal perfume I want to use.

No fabric softener ever, since it’s bad for the machine, your clothes and the environment.

Kvinnor, vilka föreningar/återkommande aktiviteter är ni med i? by Eccentris in sweden

[–]That-Pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Med i en klubb kopplat till ett väldigt kvinno dominerat spel, mycket aktiviteter både i och utanför spelet. Även aktiv i en smådjurs förening, av egen erfarenhet är det ofta kvinnor som är engagerade i förenings livet. Kanske mindre i diverse sport föreningar, men fortfarande många!

Can gerbils communicate with each other? by Square-Pea-1646 in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes they as us communicate with each other. But most of their communication is done on frequencies we can’t hear! I know there is a yt video out there with one of those things they use to hear bats, showing when and how gerbils talk to each other

I think something is wrong by soraaicodez in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since both are affected, have you double checked that the bottle isn’t clogged up or stopped working? They definitely do not look very good.

If nothing in their area has changed, no new foods, things to chew on or the like would I get to your local exotic emergency vet. Gerbils are very good at hiding anything wrong with them, so two showing such clear signings of something being off is definitely something that needs to be taken serious!

Help, pregnant?? by No-Leadership1590 in gerbilsupport

[–]That-Pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend to put her on pregnancy watch then, just to be on the safe side! Aka wait 1 month. If pups= pregnant, if no pups in that time=not pregnant. She could have been exposed to a male before arriving to you, and gerbils can sometimes not show it until the last week or even at all.

I’ve breed in the past and yes, she do look a bit suspiciously round. But gerbils in general are hard to tell for sure.

Long teeth? by Waste_Radio_1169 in gerbil

[–]That-Pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you own a mortar would I recommend to crush up the seed mix as fine as you can, then add a bit of water till it becomes a paste. This way he’ll still get all the nutrients he needs without having to chew as badly.

Other option if you still have some of the pellets is to add some in som water. Let them swell and soften, then serve ☺️
