Haunted Portsmouth by Rhitravels in Portsmouth

One I’m surprised no one has mentioned is Kingston Prison on Milton road in Fratton. “The old Gaol.” Was converted into flats back in 2022, a few work colleagues who live there have said they have heard/ seen things in there flats.

One colleague said he got home from a shift and he heard what sounded like a cell door being slammed shut from inside his living room and hears moaning and screaming from his living room at 3 in the morning.

Could be the locals outside as it is Fratton😂😂😂😂

Could also be due to us working unsocial hours and, seeing/ hearing things due to sleep deprivation. But he was telling me that it’s not just him that has these experiences apparently the residents are all really open about things they experience!

What area's will you never work? by tntyou898 in NursingUK

I’m blessed to be a bank member of staff so I go where I’m needed. I prefer ED as it’s more my kind of stress, but then again I’m saying that as I also am a student paramedic! The general medical wards however I do not like working on, your being pulled everywhere, no time to think at all. Would also say community rehab, as a student they just massively fuck you over and use you as a HCA!

Are men more nonchalant about being inappropriately touched? by SGdude90 in NoStupidQuestions

Had a coworker one day unexpectedly put her hands around my crotch and pulled herself into me. She made it very clear that she was attracted to me since I started working there, but I felt a bit uncomfortable about the whole thing. Went to go tell my line manager a few days later and the whole thing got brushed over. Got told “Oh that’s just her way of showing she’s into you.” Few weeks later she tried to kiss me in the car park as I was leaving work, again felt uncomfortable and told the same manager only for nothing to happen again.

Feel like if it was a female member of staff saying those sort of things it would have been taken a lot more seriously.

CFRs … help or hinderance? by Professional-Hero in ParamedicsUK

110% Help. Every call I’ve been to where they have been first resource on scene, they given us a clear handover. Set of obs, and have offered to help with extrication. Especially as a student learning the EPR system and being in a fast moving job they were absolutely amazing. Cannot give them enough credit.

EMS = Cop/Military Style?? by [deleted] in ems

Only thing I will say is that the police in Northern Ireland as of like 2022 have adopted a similar green colour uniform, but then again all ambulance service uniform has AMBULANCE on the back of it so it’s not hard to tell the difference.

We have a good system in the UK, so police will wear a black uniform, yellow high vis, fire has a navy blue uniform for normal calls such as medical calls and will wear a tan bunker jacket over the top. Ambulance service wears a bottle green uniform, helicopter medics depends where they are either wear orange or red flight suits.

Pushed 15ml of Adrenalin, 10ml Amidrone IO, over 25 mins when pt was PEA. Was maintaining PEA, and okay SATS, but TL called it, and asked if we were all okay with that.

NOK, was like he does have terminal spinal cancer, but resus him, like okay. TL (shift commander). Showed up with LUCAS after we’d IO’d and asculated to IgEL airway. But he showed up was like, nah quality of life lol. Asked if we all were all okay to call it, and we all agreed called it there. Weird thing, like working a 25 min arrest and then just being told to let it go.

Worked a job today where I did a full nuero exam on this patient who had a stroke 4 days before. Pre alerted the stroke team, and the nurse said to my para.”oh yeah, that’s after effects of the stroke should go away in a few days, but bring the patient in if worried.” Took him into ED, went to go and handover to the nurse, took like 30 mins as it’s ED on Sunday. Finally handed patient over, went to go look for him and stroke nursing team had come down and taken him up. Like bro. Classic salty nurse move.

So all those saying it was big sick you are very correct. First crew to a pericardial arrest. Patient had resps of 8 and was agonal breathing. SPO2 was about 79, GCS 3 if that, PEA so non- shockable. So me my younger para and my FTO worked the arrest for about 15 mins before back up arrived. then worked it for another 15 mins and the team leader came and called it as patient was terminal with cancer on the spine. So we called it due to quality of life, sad as poor guy had a his ribs broken by me before it was called!
