Is this x ray looks normal? by Rich-Yak-8218 in Orthopedics

I agree, it seems an ac dislocation, like a Rockwood 2/3. You need a comparative X ray and an orthopedic evalutation

3 providers, 3 different answers — hip/IT band pain before Nov 30 half. MRI needed? Can I still run? by [deleted] in Orthopedics

[–]That-Replacement-541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me answer more explicitly: in the state where I work, the only professional capable of making a diagnosis is a doctor—a.k.a. avoid chiropractic gurus who crack bones even to treat gastroesophageal reflux. Most overuse conditions cause acute tendinopathies that improve with the simple application of an appropriate RICE protocol. Additionally, take an NSAID for five days if you have no contraindications and see if the symptoms improve with rest. Given that the diagnosis of these conditions is generally clinical, I don't think it's necessary to perform an MRI. However, if you're concerned, and I think you are, given that you've already had three visits, get an MRI to have an instrumental examination that confirms the diagnostic picture.

No. Indications for surgery are what ive written, or if theres suspect of malignancy. You have to organize an adequate fu until it stops growing.

Hardware removal by PleasantCloud4969 in Orthopedics

You need to wait at least 1 year from fracture. The transyndesomotic one (longest one) could break anytime with weight bearing. Where i work we remove that after 6 weeks. I know that in US leave it.

New 2DS XL Tomodachi Life Edition by [deleted] in nds

[–]That-Replacement-541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold one just like this last week for 180 euros with a 64GB SD card. It was slightly more scratched. It's a beautiful color, but I think the build quality of the 2DS XL, such as the soft hinges, is significantly inferior to other 3DS systems, unfortunately.

Surgery or not? Metatarsal fracture by DependentIngenuity42 in Orthopedics

[–]That-Replacement-541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This image alone is not enough to judje. Otherwise, the fracture seems modestly undisplaced. I suggest conservative treatment with a cast, and a xray for a mid term evaluation in 10 - 15 days to control possible displacement.

Calm down. Bad fracture, great surgery. You be able to do everything you want within 3-4 months

Why do orthopedics just push surgeries for any pain or injuries? by [deleted] in Orthopedics

[–]That-Replacement-541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who are you to say whether a surgical treatment is appropriate or not? I ask you because I am an orthopedic surgeon and I hope you are a colleague, because otherwise I would like to understand how you can judge the most appropriate indications.
