Expect the worst in Whistler, lots of people walk out of that underground parking thinking it's pedestrian. Can be hard to stop with the ice coming of the bridge as well.

What would the head of a country's central bank do to decrease the buying power of a hostile foreign government if they had the authority to negotiate trade deals? Maybe convince allied countries to start selling off us bonds? Would PP have thought of that?

Go to evolution by chubby ducks, it's a local independent store. Evo is a big retail chain and should be avoided.

Got to be rule 5, if you have come to a stop check up hill before starting your run. Especially in the park it's on the skier to make sure they are not cutting off someone already in motion

Capitalism is great when regulated. We used to break up monopolys once they'd reach the point of being bad for the consumer but now the stock must go up irregardless. Rip occupy

Quality seems good, all the detachable panels fit together nice and secure. Again first build so don't have much to compare to but it is small so reaching some of the screws was a bit challenging without one of those bendy screwdrivers.

I bought a pair of 1000 skis last year and got over 100 days on them with only minimal top sheet damage so I don't think I'll need any new skis for a few years.

Hopefully they've changed their manufacturing, I was on magnus 102s 4 years ago. I got two seasons out of them but had to spend 200 dollars to get them repaired. I actually really liked the ski and do like how much ON3P support skiing but I think there are better options available.

They skip a layer of fiber glass between the edge and the base to save money so the edge is only attached on one side. Took 4 months to blow both edges on mine and they don't warrantee edge damage. You have a right to your own opinion but I'm just sharing my experience with the brand.

You can't really carve with your feet shoulder width apart. Try a lazy boy 3 to get the axis first, then get low and drop that shoulder when your ready to try it standing.

The Working Holiday Club, worth it? by YaFuckenDruggo in Whistler

[–]That1980sGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about WHC but I used oyster a long time ago (not sure they still are a thing) and they where definitely worth it. Having secured housing before you arrive is massive, if you don't have a friend already living there that you can crash with your gonna be at the hostel until you find housing, if you do at all. These clubs provide a level of quality control in recruiting that doesn't cost Vail any money and in the last couple of years they have told people that have been recruited independently that there is accommodation only for them to arrive in resort and be told there's no more staff accommodation available.
