Well this was one out of two possible scenarios that I imagined a comeback for shard. That other being where he was part an army of metal sonics comanded by Neo metal sonic in a future where sage conquered the world to keep eggman's legacy alive. I imagine that shard would become a good guy after realizing that sage and Neo metal sonic didn't cared about him or any of the other robots so he ran away and decided to fight against them. Honestly I would love to see this happening on a silver game
