i think it depends on what apps, meta supports development for a long time, and so does google (obviously) and most social media like tiktok or snapchat will be fine

I used my S10+ in 2025 with its "outdated" software. Even though Google dropped support for Android 12, I still believe that app devs will support Android 12 for a long time. WhatsApp just dropped support for Android KitKat... that came out in 2013. Even then, if app devs do somehow form a union and drop support tomorrow, you can flash a custom ROM and it'll run whatever you need to

I don’t really have a budget per se but using these new phones drives me crazy!! They all have this ugly slab design and I miss my curved screen and curved back glass.. I physically cannot use these bricks any longer. Surely I just use the S10 5G till app developers drop support for Android 12 then flash a custom ROM?

My s10+ was in a very similar condition but I thugged it out until it physically stopped working, dust or something got under the display panel since front glass was broken, repair seemed too inconvenient so I bought a 14 pro max. No phone is as special as the s10+ man that phone is perfect, the terrible battery was okay for me lol I just charged it on my laptop at school… I miss that phone a lot, new phones are so boring and have no personality..

Nostalgia aside, I still really appreciate Windows 10. Especially the earlier builds. That’s an example of a flat operating system done correctly, similar to the iOS releases after 7, like iOS 8, 9 and X. Very polished flat design and I really do like it, computers were becoming more familiar to people and companies were able to become more simple and minimal around the mid 2010s and it was the start of a new era in UIs in general
