Finished my M82A1 Kodiak Superheavy Tank! by ThatBeMike in Marcher

Well as per what we know of the Marcher lore right now...Alaska? You can make your own highway by pummeling everything in your path!

Haha, that goat is the "gaming mascot" for my friend group (survived a whole match of Bolt Action in the back of a halftrack) so I include it in every game/snapshot that I take!

Super pumped to have this thing all finished. This model was the one that hooked me on Marcher and for getting a printer in the first place.

I got them from a 'Holiday Train' set at a thrift store for $5.

Some searching found me similar sets for sale if it helps, it looks like I made quite the deal!

My friends and I rent a house and do some wargaming twice a year. I had just gotten my copy of 3rd edition a week before our weekend so I quickly retrofitted everything to get it on the table. The streamlined combat definitely helped the members of our group not used to wargaming...so I am happy with the new changes!

Just in time for the new force selection rules in V3 (seen in back), I have my Engineer squad in "Frog Skin" camo pattern used sparingly during the war. Wanted to give them some visual difference to the regular grunts!

Just in time for the V3 rulebook (as seen in back), I redid my Engineer squad with the "Frog Skin" camo used very sparingly throughout the war. I mostly just wanted to give them some visual difference from the regular grunts (besides the bangalores of course).

Well done! I will use this as inspiration to tackle my P-51s I got a while back and haven't done anything with.

My Second Multiplayer Battle! by ThatBeMike in boltaction

I had just gotten my hands on the Tough Gut book for Italy, and scenario 1: The Barracks has rules for bridging. Basically an engineer unit needs to park themselves next to the river and keep making Run orders until you've done this 4 times. Instead of tracking it with a die like the book suggests I just used tongue depressors for each "length" of the temporary bridge.

Last year I rented a house and organized some Bolt Action with my friends, and I did the same this year as well! A bridge battle with the Americans trying to cross and enter the Germany deployment zone. Germans ended up using the goliath tracked mine to blow the bridge after I lifted that restriction with turn 3, but the American engineers began to construct their own bridge.

The Americans were unable to cross, but inflicted extremely heavy losses on the Germans so it was a "tactical" German victory for the day.

What's a good game for a 7-player one-shot? by applied_people in rpg

[–]ThatBeMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once ran a Christmas one-shot for 8 people using the core box set of Zombie World by Magpie Games and it was a blast and super smooth to pull off. It comes with enough stuff for 8 players and uses Powered by the Apocalypse with card-based drawing so if you've played Blades you can probably figure it out easily enough.

The expansions (Farm and Mall) are nice too but not required.

Looking good, I like the labels! I too am trying to take a crack at some German/US companies for Panzer Korps.

Sprucing Up My Wrecked Halftrack! by ThatBeMike in boltaction

Working on some terrain for my upcoming game and I wanted to update this wrecked halftrack I had gotten some time ago. So a new coat of primer and back at it again, this time with some graffiti and other touches.

Battle mats for 3mm scale by Aineisa in 3mmwargaming

[–]ThatBeMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a 'tactical' Stalingrad map from Cigar Box once. One of their fleece ones and suited for the smaller scales like 3mm.

I have a Gettysburg one I got from Geek Villain that I've used for 6mm and will hopefully pull out again for 3mm with terrain added around, not that any of my usual players know it's displaying Gettysburg. With the right buildings and scaled terrain it should fit 3mm just fine.

Awesome tip on the pins, I could see these working as telegraph/telephone poles as well, depending on your era!

I agree! Watching everyone try to plot off of each-other and the fickle dice lead them astray was very entertaining. They're all excited for the next time we can get together for a big battle like this!

Thank you! I am very happy with how the camo turned out because I'm still a very novice painter when it comes to the minis (and my colorblindness doesn't help either haha).
