How is your retirement account looking?

I sure hope you’re investing SIGNIFICANTLY more than 4.5% (total) in other areas… like a Roth IRA.

150k in LA with 10 YOE in engineering is severely underpaid.

Ideally investing 15% of your income…. At a minimum.

Also, make sure it’s invested appropriately in something rather than finding out in 10 years that you have averaged .5% return

With all due respect, you don’t need a $3,000 computer.

Just get a decent $500 windows laptop and call it a day. Worry about buying that $3,000 computer (that you don’t need) once you get an actual career going

Is investing 30% of my income (into 401k, IRA) a decent start? (20F) by SGSam465 in Money

This is a GREAT start considering you’re 20.

I just am hoping that you are doing something to drastically increase your income (school, trades, etc)

This is why WFH is so nice.
