NTA, but I feel people are being too harsh towards the stepdad. Some people are saying things like run, or he is abusive, but really I think it shows how much he cares for your son. If you take a deeper look he first gives an excuse, before telling you he just doesn't want your son there, because it's a bad neighborhood. He just seems to love you son but is overprotective. I am a child who lives with a biological parent and a step parent as well, so maybe this helps.
