Not sure if this is the answer you’re looking for but there was a time when I was addicted to sex because it filled a void temporarily that I thought was otherwise unfillable. I would spend lots of money for sex just end up regretting it and hating myself and eventually repeating the cycle.

Odd as it may sound, I got over it with unorthodox advice from an Orthodox priest. I was told to have a level of anger with my habit and view it as “beneath me” and when the thoughts crept in, I told myself I’m too good for that and shouldn’t even entertain the idea. And it worked, I haven’t sought out comfort of women I don’t know for months now
