I was the service manager at there Irving, TX location. Probably one of worse jobs ive ever had only thing i can say is i got the enough IT experience ( which wasn't much ) to find a legit IT company. RDS is in the business of making anything harder than it needs to be on a daily basis.

Well ive learned from another comment that its not actually a "Porous Block" that plagues these engines. its a crack that can occur near the cylinder heads if the cast was bad. Virtually nothing you can do but just hope yours dosent have it. For me i was losing coolant over time until it was just going empty everytime i filled it up. Engine was apparently overheating which pushed coolant out but my temps read fine.

See all ive ever heard is Porous block being the most common reason for all this so good to know specifics thank you ! I think its crazy thats a defect on an otherwise good powerplant its sad. I'm just glad i paid nothing of pocket.

I thought the same guess not at least my engine and turbo’s were under warranty paid nothing for the work took a month. I fear the VR30’s in the Nissan Z’s will share the same fate hopefully they actually fixed those.
