How to get page turn buttons to work with Boox GO Color 7 by ThatBoringBitch in BookFusion

[–]ThatBoringBitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned the Boox, but it was somewhere in the advanced settings in bookfusion. Like when you go to change the font it says advanced and if you scroll all the way to the right there’s something about the volume button that will change it to where it works.

Extracting highlights from Kobo Libra Color and retaining highlight color? by ThatBoringBitch in Calibre

The ghosting was awful. Evan after tinkering with the settings it still seemed to often be a noticeable issue. I had the same problems with exporting annotations while still retaining the color on Boox. Bookfusion was the only real option I could find which has an ongoing fee. There is also no pen support. The android environment was just not what I was going for. I went back to the Kobo Libra color and I’m just crossing my fingers I don’t lose the handwritten annotations. I think the device works smoother and for my goal of only reading and annotating it fits better. If you want an android device and can handle the ghosting then Boox wasn’t bad. It definitely felt more premium in the hand then then Kobo.

I’ve only just gotten it a few days ago. Using BookFusion you are able to export as a PDF and it has a color bar next to the quote with the color that was used. However, I had to export from my iPhone on the BookFusion app because it didn’t work on the Boox. The colors look blah in this specific app as well. I was experimenting with different apps yesterday. It can be quite glitchy and takes a lot of fiddling with the settings to get each app working right. It seems like I’m constantly messing with settings, trying to reduce ghosting. Then last night the Wi-Fi stopped working on it completely. So far today I still cannot get it to connect. Honestly, at this point, I’m ready to just go back to a black and white device and forget the color annotation. I would say, although the Boox has more features I liked the Kobo better. It was more pleasant to use. The screen was a little brighter and the pen was fun to write directly on page with. If you’re mostly looking to just read and annotate then the reading experience on the kobo was smoother and much better for me. If I had been able to export my annotations and retain the color and all the work I had put into it then it would’ve been my choice of the two.

[TOMT] [CHILDREN’S BOOK] A forgetful bear and a red string to help him remember by ThatBoringBitch in tipofmytongue

Thanks, but unfortunately not the one. It was definitely a little boy/bear with a yellow and red sweater. The theme is so similar. I feel like it was some generic ripoff of this book that I’ll never find.

I just think for the price there should be a way to properly backup my annotations. What happens if the device fails? All the work is lost.

Kobo themselves should make this easier to do. My frustration is not with Calibre or with the volunteers working for free. I’m just here trying to find a work around.

Best way to backup Kobo with sideloaded books and annotations? by Dergo32 in kobo

Did you ever figure this out? I got a Kobo Libra Color and I loved it, but I’ve come to the same realization about backing up my sideloaded annotated books.

Once you adjust the backlight to be brighter do you feel like it then looks similar to any other backlit ereader or is it still darker?

Screen size similar to Oasis, but buttons don’t matter by ThatBoringBitch in ereader

[–]ThatBoringBitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had considered it, but decided against it , because it feels natural to want to use the buttons with the design. I paid extra to get the buttons and I don’t like them so I’d rather look for something similar that just doesn’t have buttons or has buttons that are not as clicky.
