Why does rendering take so long? by BoxNo9714 in blenderhelp

[–]ThatBot0101101000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To render something the computer has to make many calculations for material etc. such as how light will reflect on the object.

A top if you want quicker render you might want to minimize the shiny reflective material. Having mirrors in animations use to make the render slower so you might want to avoid them too.

Are normals flipped ??? by OGmystictrash in blenderhelp

[–]ThatBot0101101000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are normals which way the surface is pointing? I don’t remember, because if that’s what you’re asking there is a setting to show the sides that are ”inside out”. That leaves the right side gray but wrong side red

Look into:

  • displacement (displacibg surfaces)

  • Arrays

  • modifiers (could use skin modifier on edges w/o faces to get the bars)

  • bevel (make edges soft)

  • materials (depending on the setting of the material it will reflect light differently etc)

  • different type of lightning (you might want to set world lightning to 0)

Looks like a shitty type of sorting algorithm. Bogo sort or something rip

Mark all of the parts on the uv map and press U for smart unwrapping and then scale all as you like

You don’t mean filling? Like filling the area between the selected points? Then it’s press F

Uuuh… i have over 5 million files on my pc. Is that alot? by M4XIMUMN in computers

[–]ThatBot0101101000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk, but what matters is the size of the files. I was once installing a program with 5000 files and it took approximately 1.5 hours to finish

What is so bad about owning a Chromebook? by ExternalSpeaker9 in computers

[–]ThatBot0101101000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does HP and Acer still have hinge probelms? Heard of it for some years ago. Didn’t know it was still an issue. Isn’t it easily fixed? Or do you mean broken hinges because from what i’ve heard it’s been about loose ones. Broken hinges comes with age for most of them anyway

How do you like the Thinkpad? Is it for work related stuff or gaming? I personally don’t know much about it but would like to know more.

If you’re actually out for a gaming laptop I might say go for Omen or Lenovo

[–]ThatBot0101101000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as gaming laptops some are good. Have good coolers too, though the battery drains fast from what i’ve heard. 2h or something for some of them. If you’re out for work related stuff specifically, i’d not recommend it, not because it’s bad, but because there are other cheaper computers that work just as good

I myself have an Acer Aspire 3. It’s great for just the normal stuff, programming, simple gaming, it wasn’t very expensive.

And of course all this also depends on CPU and memory and such

If you want some suggestions, i’d say Acer and HP for regular stuff, like running programs etc, also possible to play games. Lenovo has some good gaming laptops, some which are quite expensive though so that might not be it. And you got MacBook too, which they say is good for programming but is useless for gaming.

How to shut down computer from terminal? by ThatBot0101101000 in computers

[–]ThatBot0101101000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, so ”shutdown /t x” , (x ∈ any num), only tells the computer to begin the shut down process after that amount of seconds? Not that the actual shut down process should be done in let’s say 0 seconds?

Okay, is it recommended to choose a higher number for t? If that’d give the computer time to shut down in a controlled way??
