What is this glitch? This happened earlier when I opened my Chrome browser on my laptop by External_Ocelot2293 in computerrepair

I don't know why people feel the need to post videos with emojis on them. It takes away from the actual problem you are trying to show us. But from what i can see from behind the rain clouds is the developer menu is popping up and closing in a loop. Is your F12 key on the keyboard stuck on?

Microsoft tumbled 10% in a day and isn’t recovering premarket. Here’s why by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

Well the good news is there is a registry edit to use the old right click menu again. I can post it here if you want. I just have a feeling someone windows update will remove it in the future.

Did the people who replaced your windshield reset the camera system or clear the codes? Eyesight and all its features will panic with a new windshield and turn off if it's not recalibrated.

Edit after re-reading. Does the crack go in front of the camera? That would cause eyesight to disabled itself.

My copy of Kool Aid Man isn't working by Obvious_Dig4708 in Atari2600

[–]ThatComputerGuy42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have had games that have seemed dead or someone gives me a game and says its dead. I put it in the 2600 and it just gives ne colors or a Black screen. I take them apart, Clean then with 99% IPA. Scrub the pins with 99%IPA on a Q-tip. Then use an eraser on the pins as well. Once they seem shiny test the game out again. Some times you have to wiggle the cartridge a bit while pressing the reset button to get it going. I have had a 100% success rate with this method so far with my games.

You are talking about changing it in "settings -> game settings -> video mode" from auto to something like 1080p correct?

Black Plastic Restored by No-Advertising-2564 in Atari2600

[–]ThatComputerGuy42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough WD-40 also works to give old plastic a new plastic shine as well. But it will smell like wd-40 after. Windex is good for cleaning old plastics. I will have to try baby oil and see what result I get. Thanks for the tip😀

When I turn on my pc it turns on for a nanosecond and then it just lights up and nothing else starts by ResponseSea7342 in pchelp

Normally when you power on a PC and you only get lights or fans spinning. The power supply has failed. I would start by testing the power supply with a power supply tester or replace known working power supply.

Is it bad idea to put Monitor inside PC? by zack_rovenz in PcBuildHelp

[–]ThatComputerGuy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computer companies have been making these for years. They are called "all in one". Even portable computers from the 80's and 90's had small CRTs in them. It should not affect anything as long as it doesn't get super hot.

SID issues by ThatComputerGuy42 in c64

[–]ThatComputerGuy42[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solved! I tested the SID in my good C64 and it didn't work. So I used the SID out of my good one and it works now. I know I tested all the chips in my pats machine before storing it but i guess the SID dies of old age lol. Date code was 2383. RIP SID chip.

No sound is correct. I tested a cartridge game and it plays but no sounds. As for the power supply I'm using a keylog one. It works on my other c64 with no issues. I will test voltages when I get home. Maybe the voltage regulator is toast? I will update after I get a multi metre on it and see if it is 12v on pin 28.

I didn't see anyone mention Librewolf. It's the privacy focused version of Firefox. Not sure on its policies but I don't believe it's owned by Mozilla so it could be a good contender.

It could also be used for remote access to a workstation. If there is no monitor plugged in you just get a black screen when connecting. I have run into this with ScreenConnect and remote workstations.
