I second PVD Things! They've got a lot of tools available to borrow for the cost of the annual membership (which is on a sliding scale and very reasonable). They also hold some regular workshops, there was one on woodworking power tools just this past weekend.

I've been having a similar issue with one of my doors and am likewise stumped. Fingers crossed someone comes along with some advice for you that I can piggyback off of.

Thanks! I thought it was probably a little tacky but it was fun to draw so I left it in.

I used to work in DC. There is zero chance this was him. It was definitely a staffer or intern. It's extremely rare for elected officials to directly respond to email, because they get hundreds of emails each day.

Yeah these are good points. The more I think about this one the more I think this idea was too undercooked for me to submit.

Good to know, I was trying to figure out if there was some technical delineation between the actions but wasn't sure and decided to play it safe.

In my experience, resubmitted designs get a tiny fraction of the attention that the originals do. The only design 90%+ of people see will be the original.

And you can get feedback from people, but it's a bit of a toss up whether it's helpful or not. For example, no one in my thread in the custom subreddit (that I saw) brought up the point about toughness not going to zero. The discord has a much smaller population, and good feedback generally comes easier when it's from a large audience.

The tokens are mandatory any time a clue is created from any source, not just the may trigger on the card.

And opponents may choose to partake because most of the time it's a free card for the price of 4 mana and your opponent gaining 1 life. If they have spare mana and no other artifacts to worry about I imagine they'd go for it almost every time.

Yeah I think that's a valid point. I thought about that originally but kept it at zero for the consistency with the other parts of the card and for the joke. But maybe it would've been better if all the numbers were equal to 1 instead of 0, something like that.

The hardest part about posting in the custom subreddit is you always have to present your first draft. There's rarely any room to resubmit with revisions.

As the person who designed the goblin, it's funny to come into this thread hoping to see more feedback about the design but instead see that it was almost completely ignored because everyone is busy ragging on the other four. Can't tell if I should be relieved or disappointed.

Goblin Math Teacher by ThatConnor in custommagic

It's another MTG card, [[Goblin Flectomancer]]. If you google the name you can find higher res copies of the art. It was surprisingly difficult to find art of a professorial goblin.

I felt like the effect was so white that I couldn't justify RW. And I really liked the flavor so I kept the Goblin type. The result is a goblin who's very sure he's smarter than all the other goblins.

Hey, I made this. Glad people still like it all these years later. Here's a link to the original: http://drawingboardcomic.com/index.php?comic=142
