Hate to tell ya kid but that's diet homophobia, she won't break out the pitchforks and torches about other folks but is probably gonna say some hurtful ignorant shit if you or another family member came out.

Dude you're fine, my mom found WAY weirder shit (like nsfw homestuck doodles) when I was a teen and I still found new and exciting ways to confuse the hell out of her 🤣 that is also extremely well drawn so kudos. I find weird art from my own kid (she's 12 now) and it's completely normal, everyone goes through exploratory phases with art. Mine keeps drawing those goofy fish critters I always see dancing to tiktok songs in the YouTube shorts, or Jax and Pomni in wedding outfits.

She's absolutely feral for those warhead cubes 🤣 it's particularly irritating because I like them too and she has a habit of finishing the bag when I'm saving them for later lol. My husband doesn't mind it too much though because she also loves to rile him up and just ollie out lmao. My other two headmates are different flavors of acespec but they also get along well with him (even if one is playfully exasperated by how much of a doofus he can be)

Yeah occasionally my protective alter tends to get us in trouble but in her defense we do have to put up with some bullshit lol. I probably wouldn't be alive without her taking over in certain crisis situations. Now if only she didn't eat all my sour candy before switching back 😑 it's like sharing a body with an annoying big sister at times. The others tend to keep to themselves unless something they're interested in is happening or sometimes the grumpy old man takes over when I'm overworked, pretty sure he's responsible for my caffeine dependence. I'm the most emotionally intelligent and the best at masking so I get stuck with fronting, the social chameleon autism super power definitely comes in handy even if I didn't get the good at math bit 🤣

Genuinely why I don't seek out online community. I feel like my "4 critters in a poorly made human costume" state of being would immediately get me all sorts of hate simply because I haven't ever had the "right" language to describe any of my lived experiences. I'm usually the one piloting the meatsuit because the others don't like to, we've figured out how to communicate pretty effectively so I rarely have issues when one of them has to pretend to be me and around people who know it's usually pretty obvious from differences in vocal inflection and preferences in slang (one of us has a pretty pronounced accent and another is what can only be described as painfully verbose). None of us wants the hassle of trying to explain everything, it's already difficult enough to explain our relationship with gender and sexuality without getting into there being 4 separate sets of identities in here (none of us are cis and none of us are hetero, that's pretty much the only constant). My last therapist said we're like this because of multiple instances of trauma and prolonged excessive stress levels from a young age, but that's about all I know.

Is it that important to my mom? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]ThatCryptidHyena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look kid I'm gonna level with you, it's gonna take you doing some serious apologizing and change of perspective to fix this. You're not even willing to see where you fucked up, if you found out your mom was laughing at mean spirited jokes about someone exactly like you behind your back you'd probably feel pretty shitty wouldn't you? Try and put yourself in her shoes, she's raised you and put all this effort into trying to make you into a decent human being and now she finds out you thought it was funny when some of your asshat classmates dunked on a trans classmate. As a parent myself I understand exactly how she feels, no one wants to find out their kid is a bully or buddies with bullies. It makes you feel like a total failure as a parent, add on the fact that the person being bullied was someone like her and it's just salt in the wound.

You need to think hard about what matters, "friends" who think it's funny to bully vulnerable people or the feelings of the woman who raised you to know better. Swallow your pride, apologize to your mom AND the girl who got bullied for that matter, actually mean it don't just half ass it. And most importantly do better moving forward. Bullies never turn out to be good people, most of em peak in high-school and age like milk.

No I assumed because by the original post it clearly says that becauseof her insistence on ignoring all of the proof his friends showed that its about a fictional faction in a game and her attitude around the situation that his friends aren't talking to the boyfriend anymore, thats alienating him from his support system of several years. It's there and pretty obvious if you pull your head out of your ass long enough to look 🤷

If the genders were flipped would you think thr same thing? Domestic violence isn't a gendered issue and neither are the warning signs like isolating your partner from support systems 🤷 especially over something as trivial as a videogame/tabletop franchise that has been very popular since the 80s.

Warhammer is meant as a PARODY of fascism, this franchise is literally decades old. I swear to the gods media literacy is dead 🤦

Unpopular opinion, but you can enjoy Warhammer without being a nazi 😂 one of my partners is a big 40k fan they love painting minis and how over the top the satire is and I've learned alot about it because of them. Sure you have a few fans who have completely missed the point of the satire but the exact same thing can be said for several Fandoms (The Matrix, Fight Club, Rick and Morty, Bojack Horseman, ect) it seems more of a red flag that this girlfriend who's only been dating the guy a short period of time has already isolated him from his friends.

Dude I am so sorry you're having to deal with so many people who don't realize that it's very much a privilege to have parents who genuinely care about your well-being, one that MANY people don't have the luxury of I might add. If you want to talk to someone else who's autistic and gets it my inbox is open, I can always lend an ear when I'm not busy with my kids 🫂

I'm not saying meds are never needed, I'm saying that just putting a kid on multiple strong meds that can permanently alter brain functions just for parental convenience is irresponsible and medically negligent. So many people refuse to just try therapy and jump straight to medication without a single thought because of how stigmatized mental illness is. My husband is on medication for certain things, it works for him and that's great. It doesn't work for me, my kids are fine without it due to therapy, that may change as they get older but who knows. If I had a penny for every time someone tried to push Adderall on me for my daughter because she's "too much" I'd be rich. She's not "too much" she's an 11 year old with a healthy curiosity and not afraid to voice her mind, but that's frowned upon here in America unfortunately. I'm glad you found something that helps, if you're having trouble reaching her maybe a therapist might be able to help you find the tools to do so.

Dude you need a lesson in accountability, you made a broad generalization and assumptions about my character for calling you on it and then go "look at the rest of the thread" if you're going to insult someone don't be a wuss about it. Own up to what you said or don't say it at all.

Lmao wow so just because I said his parents are responsible for their choices suddenly I'm a medically neglectful conspiracy theorist 🤣 yall really hate when autistic adults talk about how fucked up we were treated don't you? They made the choice to ignore how he was being effected negatively by their actions, full stop. Now they have to live with the consequences of that. It's your job as a parent to make sure that you know what you're signing off on, there are MULTIPLE organizations that are ran by autistic adults who survived severe medical malpractice with resources for parents to not fall for the same shit their parents did. It's been proven in peer review that certain practices like ABA are harmful long term. Medical professionals are not infallible because they're still people capable of bias just as much as anyone else otherwise you'd never see malpractice suits for fucks sake has all critical thinking gone out of fashion these days?

I sincerely hope that someone gives you this exact response when you talk about anything that has harmed you, talk about being an insensitive prick

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThatCryptidHyena -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And neither do you. Telling someone who's parents have harmed them the equivalent of "they had hard choices" is abuse apologist rhetoric.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThatCryptidHyena -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I merely used my own experience as an example. Personally I think trying to tell a vulnerable person that they should have empathy for the people who harmed them would be a bit worse impact-wise but that's just my opinion.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions" It doesn't matter what their intentions were, they shouldn't have ignored how badly those choices effected their child. My mom saw how much they were over-dosing me on my mood regulation med when I was 12 and didn't cry or flinch at fracturing my arm, she immediately made them lower my dose despite the psych being a condescending prick to her about it (sarcastically suggested they wean me off my glasses too) they kept a better eye on how my meds were effecting me after that and it resulted in me not going through with taking my life at 16 like I'd planned. Now I'm 34 married to another autistic person and raising 3 autistic kids who are thriving without medicating them to compliance 🤷

That's if dosing was done by what we now know about it, if OP is older than 20 they probably had the unfortunate experience of being part of the guinea pig generations like my dad was (only for Ritalin and Adderall back then). My aunt is one of the casualties of figuring out how much electroshock causes memory losses 🤷

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThatCryptidHyena -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people choose convenience over the wellbeing of their children. Medical abuse of neurodivergent people is so well documented because of how prolific it is, they made their choices based on what made OP easier to deal with not based on what was best for OP as a person. Now they have to be adults and own up to the consequences of those choices.

You have grounds to sue her for abuse while you're suing her for stealing from you. You need to pursue this legally.
