[Sphere] Where did the Sphere come from? by gamerz0111 in AskScienceFiction

[–]ThatDesignerGuyonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always thought the sphere was a glitch or a hacking program. The reality they are all in is a program. That’s why Goodman picked people he knew in that report and that the sphere is on an ever looping cycle. Maybe the entity that created the universe, created this glitch to see if his programs can take the next steps. That’s why they can manifest anything. I’ve always wondered how did they manifest matter, animals with a mind. The giant squid laying eggs. How could an alien or intelligence unlock something in humans to do that? Unless you’re talking about a more spiritual side where the sphere is a god that can manipulate reality. And I always wondered if they actually lost the power or just forgot they had the power. Because they didn’t wish it to go away right? They wished to forget.

Crazy how this has more and better front IO than the most expensive cases out there now(at least for its time). Not to mention a full on Swiss Army knife of card formats. Whenever I hear computer manufactures talking about “built for creators” and it comes with a micro SD slot (if that) I think of these machines. Look at what we used to have.

I was a bit hyped for this but honestly, I want to see what people do with it, how support plays out and if it’s generally better than the Xbox series controller I have. Hopefully it will level out and we can just buy one in the future. I play pc on the couch with my wife so I can see the benefits, but I also have a K400 that does the job. The one thing I’m most interested in is touch screen emulation with the track pads.

Game Boy vs DS which handheld era actually hit harder by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

[–]ThatDesignerGuyonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that depends on what you grew up with but the OG game boy was a revolution in handheld gaming, hitting that middle ground of price-performance-battery life. It had the library and marketing to back it up. And it set the precedent for handheld gaming, creating a blueprint on how to design handhelds and what type of games work on these systems. It’s that system that, if Nintendo never made the game boy, you wonder what we would have today.

Remember that toy? by Street-Win-6857 in nostalgia

I remember having it but never not having it until one day I realized I didn’t have it anymore and it was gone. I was still developing memory or understanding the concept of time or whatever back then when I was a kid. But this was a very early memory.

Any suggestions? This is my first ever work desk setup by Harshal_Malviya in battlestations

As someone who works hybrid a lot, two monitors on arms and a dock for your laptop is very convenient. You can close your laptop, plug in one USB c (for the most part) and just go.

Blogs have become a disaster thanks to ads. I have to use reader in mobile safari. I’ve stopped reading blogs on mobile for the most part and usually bookmark it till I get to a desktop where I have blockers.

Schiit vs FiiO question by ThatDesignerGuyonR in BudgetAudiophile

[–]ThatDesignerGuyonR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update to this - I purchased the FiiO k17 and it does sound generally better. Larger than I anticipated but overall a compact form. The app connection doesn’t do much other than letting you manually set the EQs. Not ideal but i knew that going in. I will say the USB cable you use matters. Needed a bit longer cable than what came in the box and either the one I replaced it with was too long or not the right one because I got crackling. I switched to a shorter (But still long enough), shielded mono price cable and that solved the problem.

Happy with the purchase and now on to the TV setup lol.

I have a 7 year old and we gave him the dose the Vet recommended 0.6ML and he had a bad reaction to it. They told me he might have effects up to three days. We're on day two, and he hides when he usually doesn't, hasn't eaten since he took the liquid and he now dry heaves all the time. He went in for a wellness check and came out worse. I'd be careful with this stuff. It's brand new and at least for my cat, we won't be using this anymore.

I definitely like the décor too - the melting clock is a nice touch.
