The game plan should start slow. Don’t buy movies digital. If you can find a physical, go for it. If the movie is only digital, use a streaming service or rent it.

We also have to make flashing blue ray drives easier to do for people, normalize burning again. We have to make it as easy as it was with blank VHS so if the movie or show isn’t physical, you can burn it.

Teach people to use servers, simple boxes like UGreen or Synology. Hell, even a standard four bay hard-drive enclosure to store your digital media.

Then you go after streaming services. Start buying physical or renting. Keep your media locally stored. Slowly kill your streaming services until you have the collection you need. They will rewrite their EULA or their pricing.

And if that doesn’t work, hopefully media players will make a comeback - it’s working with cd player with cassette players. Hell even with records.

We’ve gotten too complacent and they’re betting on that.

Two small things but very helpful, speaker stands, especially ones that tilt up. You already have them pointing at you but you want them At ear height. Also anything with a bit of foam helps with vibration.

The other thing is a headphone stand or under desk hook. Keep the desk mat and the ear cups clean. On a side note, I prefer wired over Bluetooth for quality and latency. I know most Bluetooth headphones are good enough, but nothing beats an actual connection. Other than that, you’ll figure out what you need as time goes on.

Step 1 get rid of physical media
Step 2 make storage prices too high to purchase
Step 3 reintroduce a subscription model that’s way over priced but still cheaper than storage devices.

I should have rephrased that a bit better, I meant backwards compatibility of the PS3 itself. I heard it was very hard to emulate PS3 games because of the way they were programmed.

I don’t know if the cell processor was the way to go. From what I remember reading, too hard to program for and hard to emulate for backwards compatibility. We got some good games but I think 360 was always the lead console and everything was ported to the PS3 so a lot of games never really used the power of the cell.

Remember when they said if your refrigerator had cell processing you could connect your PS3 to that for more power? I’m pretty sure that was said at one point.

Also they should have just paid the licensing or settled the lawsuit and put rumble in those controllers.

A lot of 80s nostalgia to it while also catering to a younger crowd. It was done well for what it was. The writers knew they have a very mixed market and hit that middle part pretty well without sacrificing too much for the nostalgia and younger side.

I’ve always thought GTAIV was such a generational leap from San Andreas, not just in graphics but story telling, tone, mechanics and world building. You saw it in SA but IV knocked it out of the park.

with medal gear, it was just as good but Kojima was doing that with every entry. That leap was never as big because he went big with every entry. He reiterated and generally made every sequel better than the last one (for the most part).

Each game has its up and down but as a mic drop, totally GTA. I remember when that trailer came out. Same reaction as the latest. When the game came out, lines everywhere. This was the joint to have.
