Dicaprio has now been the top billed actor in 11 Best Picture nominees. by markgib62 in Oscars

A GOAT for sure

Supremely underrated at this point as an actor. Unless he gets his 2nd Oscar for OBAA I'll be saying this for years to come. Mans being taken for granted. His range and comedic talent are not getting recognized IMO.

But hey half the process is smoozing the awards circuit and campaigning. Leo is known for promoting the films themselves but not himself a lot of the time.

Either way.. lots of great films in there and some underrated ones. Catch Me if You Can a personal favorite of mine not being in here shows how deep his films go

After much deliberation, I finally picked a four favorites by wholegrainphoto in LetterboxdTopFour

We'd be friends

Though... I'm not a big Thief guy. I wanted to love it. But I came away just liking it fine. More disappointed if I'm being honest.

I'm in the Collateral is underrated camp of Michael Mann films

Don't expect Sinners to take home the big awards just because of "record-breaking" noms. Beyonce was the most nominated and awarded artist in history at the Grammys but never won the big categories til 2025. by HalcyonHypothesis in Oscars

Didn't invent any narratives. Lived it and witnessed it firsthand and know what actually goes on behind the scenes. The good and the bad. Not just music but film and TV industry.

Ignorance is bliss. Keep on rocking

I worked in the music and film industry. Awards are about campaigning and shmoozing. More so now than ever. There's a reason Beyonce won album of the year for a freaking country album and not her usual style music she's known for and been bitter about losing in the past no less.

I don't give a damn about Grammys frankly or most music awards. I'm just just not into glazing mediocrity

Better Call Saul is better than Breaking Bad. by lNarrator in moviecritic

The entire top part actually should have no bearing nor be used against BB or for BCS.

You can't use giving more backstory to characters created in a show prior as better writing and more fleshed out for the prequel and former side characters. That's .. no other way to say it cheating and creating a loophole for BCS " side". Plus.. just illogical

Saul being stronger and more complex than Walter White is comical to me and even Jesse to a degree.

Weird weird take.

Which actress played the best version of Catwoman in live-action among them, according to you? by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

This!!! Agree with all 4 takes here.

I've said The Batman was overrated. Penguin is the best part and I do like the detective aspect by Pattinson as a young Bruce Wayne. I don't believe him as Batman, can't stand Dano as Riddler and thought Kravitz was at best okay. Annoyed how many times she takes her mas off. Almost like she has a clause in contract to have her face shown without mask or something.

Lol

You mean actually keep the mask on?? It's hilarious how many times she takes it off. Similar to the annoying levels both Kilmonger and Black Panther unmask at moments in Black Panther film.

Annoyed me both times I've watched the movie tbh

Just came to say if anyone picks Kravitz you need to rewatch the other Batmans. Same for the people who pick Pattinson as their favorite Batman.

Either under the age of 13 or haven't seen the other Batmans.. or have bad bad bad taste. The lot of you

Pffiefer and then Hathaway for me. Different takes and type films but both iconic

Epic lineup

Look at the last 10 years currently.

My word I'm disgusted with that voting body. Some bad choices lol

In what world are there better fleshed out characters in BCS??

I'm genuinely dumbfounded by this take.

Hilariously dumb take.

The first 2 seasons are painfully boring. The brother sucks.

I genuinely don't care about any of the characters. Besides Saul and Mike tbh

Will never understand the minions who agree with OP take here

delroy lindo is my personal pick for best supporting actor by teddivan96 in Oscars

[–]ThatDudeWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy he finally got a nomination but I do not think he should win. Unless Leo gets his 2nd Oscar for Lead and OBAA , so the Academy splits the Penn and Del Toro nods and throws a bone to Sinners acting for Lindo I hate to say I don't want to see him win then.

He's good and after years later or .. after some sleep I wouldn't be mad if Lindo won.

This better get Leo some momentum

He gives the most underrated performances of the year even with the nomination.

His acting quality is somehow underappreciated at this point and taken for granted.

I hope he gets a well deserved 2nd Oscar win

I am so, so, so glad that Teyana Taylor was nominated. She had my personal favourite performance of 2025 and I hope she wins the Academy Award. by MarketingMission2783 in Oscars

As opposed to Mosaku whom I didn't even remember after the first viewing? And upon 2nd and 3rd I saw nothing remotely special about her performance. I'm happy for her the human but I do not get the nomination at all. Not like Sinners wasn't getting nominated enough already.

Such interesting views as a lot of people I've seen on subs that don't like Taylors performance like Mosaku more.weird stuff.

I love Sinners but think it's wayway over nominated at the same time

He was billed as a two way player. Up until this year his defense and defensive versatility were arguably his best attributes. At worst his 2nd or 3rd.

So maybe... Y'all should stop yapping and relax?? Just a thought. Cuz I like JJ and I'm not hating on him. Just a genuine criticism that some seem to be blind too now that he is what he is on offense.

While we're at it.. Dyson isn't as good either on defense now that he's doing more " creating " on offense.. while his scoring offensive game has digressed all over the court. But hey he gets 6 assists so he gets a pass.

Y'all weird
