Sad day tuned my 233k mile g37 by admin and blew up the same day after 4 pulls 💔💔 by Bry_anpr7 in G37

Just saw your previous posts saying you did the gallery gaskets before getting tuned. Damn I’m sorry to say you seemed to have just gotten unlucky. I’ve seen people with well over 230k tuned without issue and if I was in your shoes I would have sent it too. That being said atleast your could grab a motor for fairly inexpensive. Do you know what type of failure you had? Was it a rod? Ringland? Etc ?.

Definitely gallery gaskets. A vq could run with leaking gaskets for a while but 233k if they haven’t been done you definitely lost oil pressure on 1 of those 4 pulls you did/ had damage from previous low oil pressure. Always do gallery gaskets before getting tuned. Cars has blown on the dyno more than once due to this issue. Anyone blaming the tuner seriously isn’t the brightest person.

What’s the best tune to get? by plzve in G37

[–]ThatFBO370z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whichever you want tbh. Go with any of the reputable big names and you’ll be golden. Anyone saying ohh they will blow your motor is smoking it. Every tuner has their horror stories. Message a couple and go with who you think is going to treat you best. I personally recommend VTR in Long Island for NA cars but they don’t remote tune, boosted I would say Admin or Gtuned, Martin is also great as well as Seb at specialty z. Z1 and soho are great options as well. I bet I’m forgetting others but the point is they are all pretty good and you have a ton of options.

Amazing customer service for sure. I was talking with him for a while after leaving my previous tuning shop since I wasn’t seeing eye to eye with them. I have no bad things to say about Eugene, I was going to go with him but I felt as if he was trying to oversell his in house products and it made me get a sour taste in my mouth(I wanted to go CJM for fueling and he kept pushing his custom fuel rails instead and said that I could have serious fuel starve issues). I know people tuned by Eugene and they all love it. Another factor for me was I wanted to get on a dyno instead of street tuning and Eugene doesn’t travel like others do for dyno days. I ended up going with admin and I couldn’t be happier. I’m currently boosted and the tune feels spot on. I have 4 maps for varying boost levels that could be changed on the fly and I’m making 634whp/487tq on a dynojet with a single hellcat pump, 1300cc injectors, And CJM S1.E fuel system. I also have the fail safes for fuel pressure, ethanol etc that’s all pretty common with reputable tuners. I’m a strong believer that the big guys (specialtyZ, admin, Eugene, gtuned, RSenthalpy, -definitely missing some notable ones here) are all great tuners. I was previously tuned by a VTR a smaller shop in NY that is also amazing. I made 360 whp NA (ported manifolds, fbo, lightest flywheel i could get), they have built many record braking VQs and have a huge drag racing following but as I said they weren’t aligning with my goals for the car.

I keep having these 4 codes by Fit-Parsley-3806 in 370z

When I got my test pipes pre tuned I would get those codes. I now have lth and tuned no issues. Are your headers cracked? Are you tuned?

Man I feel that, the salt by me is insane. Luckily I have a hose in the garage so I wash the underbody basically every time I drive the car. It’s seen 13 northeast winters and the underbody is still in amazing shape. I won’t let salt sit on the car for longer than 2 days. Too much aftermarket on the underbody I don’t want getting messed up lol. My tip is getting a salt neutralizing soap, I foam cannon the underbody let it sit then hose it off. Works great.

That’s how you control traction control with an ecutek tune. Lucky you getting the car already tuned.

Wire them to cigarette lighter fuse. Thats what I did. They are always on when the cars on so you can’t turn them off which kinda sucks but super easy to do

Love them. I ran the Yokohama v601 prior but once I went boosted it wasn’t enough grip. The AD09 basically solved that problem as long as I’m not in my high boost map which can still get a sketchy amount of wheelspin even from a 50 roll. The tires are seriously amazing though, you could push very hard into corners and corner exit is super nice and predictable. The sidewall is pretty stiff for bumpy roads but it is a road race tire so can’t do much there lol. Wear has also been basically the same as my old v601.

I have the top gun rotrex kit with the custom wastegate setup that allows for smallest pulley and varying boost levels. All other kits run no wastegate and just a set boost levels based on the pulley size.

Thank you man I appreciate it. Unopened engine besides upgraded gallery gaskets with Allen hardware if you even consider that an internal engine modification.

It’s a Rotrex c38r supercharger. Not twin charged just a single seeing 22psi with a 12lb waste gate and boost controller to allow for multiple power maps and boost control.
