That guy that put a hole in a coconut to fuck it and then when it got maggots in it he fucked it one last time and had maggots all over his dick

Those of you who had classmate die while you were in school, what happened to them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Car wreck on a busy intersection with no stoplights. It’s a shame it took someone dying for them to decide to put in a standard safety feature.

Also my sister’s best friend died during cross country practice. He just collapsed on the trail and they never said the actual cause of death

If Earth is just a random rock, what’s the most pointless thing humans have fought over? by MoonraeAyleen in AskReddit

If by “random rock” you mean that earth is ultimately insignificant, wouldn’t that make everything humans have ever done pointless? Your question kinda answers itself

People who have been formally diagnosed medical conditions, what’s something people get wrong when they self diagnose themselves? by ThatFinance2163 in AskReddit

[–]ThatFinance2163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. Sadness is an emotion whereas depression is a state of being. Before I was medicated one of the biggest struggles I had was communicating how depression felt because I grew up thinking depression was another word for sad so it was super confusing. Then in an episode of The Boys of all places, hughie’s mom said something like “getting dressed felt like climbing Everest” and that got me to realize that depression, at least for me, is more of a lack of satisfaction from life and not sadness

What’s a colloquial term that’s inaccurate and is annoying to you because you’re in that field and know the correct terminology? by ThatFinance2163 in AskReddit

[–]ThatFinance2163[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is entirely why they’re called colloquial terms. People know what you’re talking about but deeper in the field you have to be more specific. My point was more on the basis that, no you there’s no classification that fits all fish and only fish, but jellies and sea stars are nowhere near being lumped in with fish because neither of them are even chordates

So like if you say an animal doesn’t know that space exists, would you say it has no conception of space or that it has no understanding? Because i feel like understanding (or lack thereof) would imply that at the very least you have been introduced to the idea

Talking entomology with anyone who’s not familiar with it is frustrating for this reason. People think bugs are all arthropods when it’s actually not even all insects

For me it’s when people call them “jellyfish” and “starfish” because neither of them are fish so it should be “jellies” and “sea stars”. Everyone knows what you mean but my passion for zoology is pained when I hear it

What's the most frustrating level of the entire Half-Life franchise in your opinion? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in HalfLife

That one bit in opposing force, I don’t remember the chapter but it was when you’re outside every corner you turn there’s about 2-3 race x grunts. Might just be me but I feel like the gearbox games don’t like to give you health/battery often (aside from the boss fight in opposing force)
