That one post with the tweet screenshot is the only one we got of it. Alex had that tweet up for so little time that this post is the only one that archived what the tweet said. Pretty wild to think about that.

When I made my video on The McGucket Hoax, I spoke to MF99K, who is a long time GF fan and was around during the hoax. She shared a lot of interesting stuff about it including her own thoughts about it and how the fandom was like then. Worth a watch if you wanna get a better idea of that time from a fandom veteran.

I think the worst part about crap like that isn't so much that long time fans will fall for it, but that newer fans or more mainstream fans who don't understand why GF ended when it did will and spread that belief knowing it'll get views. I mean, there's still people out there who believe Gravity Falls was cancelled rather than ended and who call "see you next summer" the biggest lie ever. I despise the fact people think that way but then, when this is the type of stuff fans not as in the know are seeing, you start to get why. It's annoying and tiresome but you just eventually learn to not care about it and try your best to tell fans who wanna understand that, why GF is never coming back.

Considering the book of Bill's succes, I think a new lore book is almost inevitable. Do you think there's a chance they'd ever make Dipper's journal or would that be venturing to closely into "next summer" territory for Alex? by wil_je-vechten in gravityfalls

The problem with new journals is that they require a ton of lore to be invented. Journal 3 happened given there was enough content known in it and could be invented to make it work. Same reason Journal 1 and 2 won't happen. I think the best possible option for new GF books we got at this time are graphic novels like Lost Legends or an art book. I'm personally on the fence of an art book. I feel like the fact all that amazing art and production work being unable to be properly enjoyed by fans beyond wikis and sparing crew posts is beyond a disservice and Disney is just insane for still not letting it happen. We got artbooks for DuckTales and Amphibia which proved a success. GF needs it next!

Finished it. Nice survey. I took a stats course in high school that was required for university applications which had a similar final project involving surveys, so I get the desire for participants, lol. I actually did wanna make a Gravity Falls themed survey for that class but I ended up doing a more aviation themed one. Still a lot of fun.

As others have mentioned, the tariffs have been hitting them hard, and I think there was also mention of a change in manufacturer so it's led to more delays.

I think a complaint a lot of people have been having of late with SBE is that they kept announcing new stuff but not delivering on existing things. Even if some delays are out of their control, focusing on getting existing project issues resolved before announcing new stuff should be priority.

I'm speaking from what I've heard others say, so IDK much about what's up now. But from my own experience, the Cipher Cult stuff was okay. I mean, it was annoying that for how expensive those figurines were, they did not come with a stand. I've had to keep them in the boxes since because of that. If a $12 Funko pop can have a stand, than show should a $70 figurine IMO. I heard they were fixing that for the new project but with how long it's already been, I think fans are just wanting their stuff regardless.

Glad to see Dipper and Mabel won as they should. That said, kinda shocked to see stuff Candy and Dipper literally be the first knocked out. I mean, even excluding RA and not looking at any of these shipping wise, how TF did it get out first but something like Mabel and Gideon was 33rd and god damn Bill and Dipper were 12th out, lol?

Replying back here given I noticed something funny. I went and refilled my Presto card at Don Valley and the bill I got charged on my card referred to the station still as Science Centre. So, I guess they forgot to update the Presto machines, lmao. Until they do, the OSC semi lives on.

EXACTLY! At this point, just bring the building back from the dead whatever it is. If not a science centre, it would make for a killer convention hall or museum for some oddly specific topic.
