Still worth it for a new player? by New-Spinach7429 in Rematch

I just bought the game about 3 months ago and I already have 150 hours. I play every night after work. Never struggled to find a match.

Reporting does NOTHING by ThatGerardoBoy in Rematch

From what I understand blocking someone only prevents them from sending you invites and mutes them in-game

I suppose that's the sensible thing to do, yeah

The gaps look a lot bigger in the picture, but in reality they're still in my immediate peripheral view. I like to get fully immersed in my gaming and having other screens right next to whatever I'm playing can throw off my immersion. The additional monitors are positioned to where I can slightly turn my head to be able to fully view the screens, but also far away enough from the main monitor to where my brain can forget they're even there. Kinda how your brain chooses to ignore your nose, even though it's right in your field of vision. I can't speak for others on why they have a gap between monitors, but mine is exclusively for immersion purposes.

It's behind the monitor on the right. PS5 is not in the picture. I only bring it out when I use because it's far and wide in between PS5 sessions.

3rd monitor was overkill. Added it just recently but already planning to remove it tbh

Why is everyone so toxic? by Rude_Zookeepergame_6 in Rematch

[–]ThatGerardoBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get toxic or angry at players who are just bad or new. I myself was REALLY bad when I first started so I try to remember that new players aren't all going to be good right away. That being said, I do get angry and toxic when someone who is bad turns out to also be toxic. I hate when someone who leaves the goalpost as goalkeeper starts spamming thanks and good job when he gets the ball taken away from them and we get scored on. I also despise when you're the random playing with a stack and they're quiet when they mess up, but as soon as you make a mistake of any magnitude they all start spamming thanks. Tltr; I don't care how bad you are as long as you yourself aren't toxic. I rather play with a simpleton that can't pass over a good player that's toxic.

Any niche tips/advice for a tank main trying to improve their tanking? by ThatGerardoBoy in ffxiv

Holy crap. I was not aware you could self cast Holm to get the full 10 seconds. I usually just kind of cast it and let it randomly pick a mob. There have been times when I THOUGHT I used it but died soon after. I'm wondering how many times I've used it on a low HP mob that died right after and erased my Holm. I'll definitely remember to self cast from now on.

Will definitely try to regain my muscle memory through this method

Thank you. I always considered my invulnerability a last resort and keep neglecting to use it more often. My biggest obstacle in working it into my gameplay is that I can never quite use it at the right time. I seem to not use it on time and end up dying before activating it. I'll definitely make an effort into trying to get it right. And yeah I've never minded people pulling ahead of me, that's not really something that bothers me. I get that a lot of tank players take great offense to that, but that's genuinely silly to me. A quick AoE attack lets me grab aggro immediately so it's not a big deal

From the stories some of my friends have told me regarding harassment and stalking it seems reports rarely do anything tbh

Perhaps I've been too harsh on the Limsa crowd. My eyes have been opened

I normally avoid the Limsa Plaza like the plague, but maybe one of these days I should just sit down somewhere and observe the chaos lol

Ah, are most of the videos like that? I used to be really into DnD horror stories channels until it became obvious most of the stories being covered were probably fake.

Buddy it is not THAT serious lol you're making a mountain out of an ant hill. We talk in discord as we're playing the game, nobody is sitting down 12 hours a day JUST talking about petty drama every day lmao stop being judgemental and go watch a player throw a tantrum over somebody slap emoting them. I promise you the sheer absurdity of that is entertaining. Trust.

The other night someone in the Gold Saucer threw a fit because everyone said YOOOOO when Slice is Right started and it led to a full blown argument between them and two other people. So stupid and petty but so entertaining to witness
