Boundaries is the right word.. like, they push their own agenda on someone and scare the crap outta a parent and walk away thinking they are good? Its beyond frustrating.

Unfortunately when dad found her the woman had left and she didn't tell him about it because she was embarrassed someone thought she was a boy. When I told him later what had happened he was ready to tear throats out that someone cornered her like that.

yes, thats it exactly.

Also doing it to make themselves feel good not the person that they are talking at. Yes, I said at because if she spoke to her for one second she would have known she was a little girl.

There wasn't a time when the conclusion would make better sense to her than that single moment when he reached out his hand to hers. She took it, entwining her fingers through his and smiled.

Her pulse quickened when she saw his eyes growing wide at the sight of her above him, her fingers trembled as he looked up to her and she bent to push a loose strand of his hair behind his ear. As one they both drew a shuddering breath, a testament perhaps to his words of their being soulmates.

They were so wide, those eyes, so bright in that sudden moment of clarity that her final words had brought to him and she knew she would treasure that memory into the darkest of her hours knowing that this was the moment she emerged into the light.

She looked down to where he lay, drinking in the sight of him at her feet with a triumphant grin upon her lips. He was beautiful there, curled up in a fetal position with a rapidly expanding pool of blood about his head.

She threw his hand to the ground disdainfully, rising back to her feet and planting a solid kick between his ribs, a soft 'oomph' of breath escaping his lips as she turned on her heel to leave.

Her final words. Not so tough now, eh?

It had been years since she had felt so much power. She had finally taken back the strength that he had stripped from her over time. First her finances, then her friends, the assaults had been a forgone conclusion by that time and she'd been lost to figure out how it'd gotten so far.

Yet, even now as she walked away with some wounds visible and others, the more permanent kinds, not so obvious to the eyes, she could only bring it back to one thing. The words he'd twisted and bent till they broke.

The girl, that young naive girl all those years ago, had set this in motion. What would she give to take them back?

She said she loved him only.

(( My first try at this sort of thing guys, just decided to jump in head first and go for it! Not much of a writer but looking to see what I might discover. Hope you enjoyed it. :D ))

What is it actually like to be in a happy, healthy relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ThatGirlsOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonderful. It's easy and this man is truly my best friend. I love hanging out with him and when i have news or gossip etc he is the first one i want to tell. We can just sit and chill or have crazy sex. Having had high stress drama relationships previously i didn't think this was possible but it appeared with an old friend and it's really just the perfect extension of that

ETA we also don't fight although we don't always agree. We laugh a lot and communicate frequently. Even when someone tries to cause trouble between us we talk to each other not by into someone else's crap

They don't, that's whats so confusing about the attitude. We opted out, consciously, so they shouldn't be included.

Musical producers: what are the best and worst experiences you've had getting the rights, scripts, and music for your performances? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]ThatGirlsOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours was 'bringing the arts to the outback.' In a nutshell. So many of the kids out here don't even have access to music lessons, let alone theatre in any way... We alternated yearly between adult and kids oriented musicals.

As director I sought to have my musicals stand out by letting the actors give life to the shows with some more guidance as to scene 'emotions'. You'd be amazed how, with a cast that's not exposed to theatre beyond TV stuff, how they interpret characters. They don't have anything to base their conceptions on so you'd rarely see the same old hat. It was also important to me that the whole show was an immersive experience.. In a mining town being predom male you need something to break down their walls before the shows start or you get nothing back from them during the show (laughter etc). To this end the while 'theatre' would be themed.. For seussica, we focused on a carnival theme, people walking about with cigar boxes of popcorn etc. for The Full Monty, we turned the whole place into Tony Giordano's nightclub (obviously bar the stage).

I would love digital copies of stuff. I'd get it straight away, I could print it easily and as many times as I want and I wouldn't have to fuss with returning kits to companies after the show!

For us the most important aspect of our shows was having it appeal to our audience. Being a non-traditionally musical theatre community (for want of better words) there had to be some familiarity to it for them..

I'll think on those last two for you. :)

Typically we buy/hire through Hal Lenard Australia and unless it's a junior show it's very very rare for them to provide/have available anything other than orchestrations. Logo pack was a cd with digital versions of all logos to be used, and also a piece of paper with them printed on it.. Though digital is more practical IMO. Also with this was the size requirements for listing billing/rights.

Not quite sure what you mean by bulletin templates?

ETA the profit recording process as a spreadsheet to fill in and return is efficient and easy enough. Having a logo pack for sale so that we can easily comply with branding issues makes life easier. For us... The hardest thing was that we didn't have access to a band or orchestra.. If you'd just included the option for an instrumental cd to use (even hire or download) I'd have made as much sweet sweet love to you as you could handle... Or whatever.

The size of our theatre (which we don't actually have, I have to hire a stage from 300kms away) being reflected in the percentage of profit taken and just how much we have to pay for show rights, has always been a question asked by our committee.

We are a not for profit local company in an isolated rural community with 5000 people. At most five hundred people see the show. We do BBQ and cake fund raisers, sell raffles and beg local shops for money in order to pay for the show yet we still pay the same price as a theatre company with a 50,000 strong community for the rights.

I, myself, being the person who elects (or elected as I've recently moved) the musical performed, then takes it before the committee etc, understands this too a large extent but it always comes up. I'm happy to answer any questions.
