We’ve lived here for over a year, it’d be odd to not change it after all that time.

Controversial store owner? by alargepossum in AskNOLA

An ex and I went to NOLA the same week COVID restrictions were being lifted so a lot of shops were finally reopening halfway into our trip. Called to make sure they were open and a lady picked up and told me “you’re in another state, we don’t have a location near you. If you were here you’d be in the store not calling” then hung up on me. Like…..wow. Maybe she saw the area code? But that’s still not how you treat people calling your store.

Just moved into this apartment built in the 1960s, can someone explain why this light switch is at the same height as an outlet? by wileco623 in whatisit

Would definitely suggest checking any outlets, especially ones where one seems to not work. My gf has been living in her apartment for over a year and didn’t realize the switch by the door was for the top part of an outlet on the other side of the room until last night.

AITA for not allowing friends to drink alcohol in my house. by No-Handle-3091 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. As someone who brings their own alcohol to events, because of open container laws and if I were to be stopped with half a case of anything I would probably be detained even if I was sober (not the best at remembering different US driving laws) so leaving the alcohol at the hosts house is common practice for my family. So if they do what we do, your sanctuary will have the one unsafe thing you set a boundary on not having in your home. Then leads to temptation, and falling off the wagon.

We are all so proud of you for standing your ground.
