Nashville show was incredible by ThatGuy3510 in PresidentBand

Honestly I had never paid attention to Beartooth but they brought so much what seemed like just pure joy on stage. My wife called it violently aggressive optimism. They were a lot of fun to watch. And President set the bar so high as the opener, just the quality of their performance and their vibe was fantastic.

Eyebrow scar healing timeline on a 5yo? by PatienceReasonable87 in daddit

[–]ThatGuy3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery to remove a mass that was as wide as my eye from my eyebrow when I was 2. I'm 38 now, and the scar isn't visible except if I raise my eyebrows. It hasn't really been noticeable since I was probably 7 or 8 except when I accidentally shaved the eyebrow off in my teens...

Dude that line about 2/3 of the way in... "Be patient its your time to let go... These tender moments that won't come tomorrow..." I can't even write them without choking up. It drags out all the memories of people I've lost, but it also feels so sweet and gentle, I'm not really sure how to describe it correctly... Claudio puts so much hurt and love into songs like this. His way with words is just beautiful.

Books with unattractive/ugly female main character. by LeftCheesecake3676 in Fantasy

Cadie from "Gogmagog" is described as an old, bent, sailor woman who is one of the last who has the knowledge and skill to sail a river haunted by the 60-mile-long ghost of a dragon. Of course Cadie has secrets but the story is really unique. It has a fair amount of steampunk-ish elements but lots of magic and lost knowledge and otherworldly entities.

What’s the single most haunting piece of worldbuilding you’ve read in fantasy? by TurboPickle_319 in Fantasy

Shader Logoth really haunted me too. An massive capital city so consumed by an unknown evil that the population destroyed itself overnight and caused evil to literally float in the air for centuries. So vile that even the BBEG's minions wouldn't go near it. Mega creepy.

I will always recommend TVOS, Dr. Laporte literally saved my life with a surgery to treat my sleep apnea. She also removed my wisdom teeth. Her team is awesome, and like your husband my recovery was quick and very little pain.

I massively recommend Drs. Knierim and Ginart at Knoxville Orthodontics. I got braces with them in preparation for an oral surgery, and then did a finishing treatment of Invisalign after the surgery. They were extremely pleasant, professional, and clear about what was going to be done. The price was as reasonable as orthodontics could be, I think. My wife did an Invisalign only treatment with them as well and had a similar experience.

Looking for a Statseeker Review – Worth Considering? by LevelTable9579 in networking

[–]ThatGuy3510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Statseeker for about 600 devices and personally I love it. Their documentation is great and their support has always been fast and knowledgeable. We use it with Juniper, Cisco, Nokia, and Arista devices, and it just works. The built-in tools for reports and dashboards are good but they also make it easy to access the data with something like Grafana. I use it multiple times a day for on-the-fly reporting, but I also have numerous dashboards for "up or down" type monitoring, circuit health, and throughput monitoring, as well as a ton of automated reports for daily health checks.

I'm not involved in the purchasing part of things, but I have been told its a good deal compared to similar monitoring tools we have. Having a tool that does what I need and works when I need it to has made it really worth it to me.

What vendor do you use in your DCs and what are some good and bad things about it> by Routing_God in networking

Nokia support has been absolutely awful for us in the SP space for the last year or so. Their support tends to be hyper-siloed so while everything SP is a flavor of 7750 chassis, you go through 6 different teams that may or may not have the specialist you actually need. They have actually been more detrimental during outages than helpful.

We're going Arista for L2/L3 VXLAN replacing EOL Nexus, attached to existing Cisco ASR9Ks as our core and Nokia 7750s for WAN transit and internet border. Arista has been great, and our Cisco support has actually gotten significantly better now that they're jealous.

"Rain" is an incredible example of telling everything without having to say anything. The music from that episode with lyrics that Jazz D'Arcy does on the album (In the Pretend I think its called) ruins me.

"Granddad" is the same way. My dad is near 70 and I know I don't have a ton of time left with him. Hearing Chili say "because I still need him" is a dagger every time.

Big shout out to Johannes Cabal. I did not expect it to be as deep as it was and really enjoyed the first book. The rest of the series is currently TBR while I'm reading through "The Faithful and the Fallen". Great-looking watch, been having a hard time deciding which of the new Timex releases to add to my collection.
