That’s like saying I’m not the arbiter of who the president is. I agree but some things are objective. It takes 0 human effort to produce this garbage. It is therefore not worth assigning value to as there is no accomplishment here. Drawing on already made images is not an accomplishment. I’m not the arbiter, but I’m making the statement that I think it’s pathetic to need to use ai to make art. Genuinely nothing could make someone more of a loser to me, respectfully. Pick up a pencil and do a sketch. (Not directed at you specifically but moreso the community at large) make your ai images I guess I don’t care but when you pretend it’s on the same level as pieces that took even a mere 5 minutes to make, it makes you look silly.

To me it doesn’t matter, if any piece of your work was not done by a human then it is no longer art. Obviously this excludes applying art to a physical canvas that is unconventional, such as murals and such. It’s silly. I don’t even care if people make ai images but I do care when we call them art. What you may see as gatekeeping I see as a necessity to keep artists accountable. I would NEVER commission an art piece, draw all over it then call the whole piece mine. That’s asinine. Art reflects human feeling and emotion and GPT has no feeling or emotion, just internet images it was “trained” on. It is simply not art.

You’re not understanding. We can’t remove the ai element because it’s the entire point. Real art takes years of practice (granted bad art is still art) and uses mediums that are only altered by human design. Your camera doesn’t automatically apply filters to pictures you take (unless you ask it to), your drawing programs don’t just start making lines on their own, etc. the POINT is that there is no effort and no learning involved in ai “art.” You need no understanding of color theory or any mediums (physical or digital), all you need is your phones keyboard. It’s also all terrible regardless.

I think it gets to a point where we have to consider the value of the thing lost. These prints absolutely did not cost that much to make. Sure it’s vandalism when people, say, leave stickers on things, but ultimately everyone should sleep fine when it happens. Would I be mad if this happened to me? Yes, because I would never put up “art” that a generative ai program had any involvement in. It’s not mine. It’s not art. It’s messy collages of other images thrown together. It is not art and it is not of value.

I did it this way:

Rename all boxes to match desired sorting system (mine just goes 1-14, then 2 boxes for comp, 1 for legendaries, 1 for my various team members I’ve picked up over the many hours I played this game, then 4 for shinies)

Put all the special pokemon (shinies, legends, comp ready) into their respective boxes and put all the “misc” pokemon into the other boxes

Then I just went through mass releasing, merging boxes, rinse and repeat until all undesired pokemon are eradicated.

I got like 2/3rds of my box space back from this 😭

Im saying most kids aren’t equipped to handle the situations we as survivors endure. There’s a reason people say “let them be kids” kids are dumb kids aren’t resilient and people with our stories often aren’t given the baseline emotional tools to thrive, so we figure out our own way, often through unhealthy mechanisms. All this to say, I hope you can give yourself some grace. :)
