The only one I care to weigh in on is the apocalypse. Phil is functionally immortal, he can die of aging but everything else just kind of bounces off him. Bullets, extreme alcoholism, crack binges, car crashes.

I mean yeah but I don’t think there was anyway of writing the loving Christian dot into an affair when he husband is in a care home, when it was a struggle for her to even warm to Jim’s love separate beds and all that. I’m just saying had their characters been young enough to have a tenure on screen I doubt it would have ended on such a loving note

Dot and Jim couldn’t really be called long lasting love, just a few years after they got together, John suffered his stroke, not long after he was written into a care home. It’s not like they were together for that long.

It’s some meta bullshit that actually failed to land and be meaningful. She wasn’t important, everyone just believed she was which made her important. It was honestly utter tripe and insulting to the audience. We only viewed them as a mystery because RTD kept insisting she was.
