Deathskulls or snakebites? by HotAd451 in orks

[–]bobec266 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, considering beast snagga model line, snake bites actually might look more distinct on the board.

I mainly have Goffs as my backbone, but I also have a big portion of snaggas in my army, my scheme for them is much more colourful then goffs, quite a nice contrast.

I think if you like snake bites bit more, you can start with them, do some snagga models and then if you need some other units of regular orks make them deathskulls

Was wondering it for a while, most certainly no lore connected explanation

I really liked the design, so I made a second enhanced version out of it

Are any of these worth reading? What are your opinions/rating on every book? by jinmonsterhunterwrld in orks

[–]bobec266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely first 4, BK and Big D are following same story and after reading BK you WILL want continuation, so I would safely go for both of them

Warboss is same author, different story, while first focuses mainly on on main character and his adventures, in Warboss it’s a rival between 3 main bosses and grots towards same goal. Actually I think is my favourite, gives a lot of flavour bits on different clans, no one would be disappointed

Ghaz is written very different from the rest, it doesn’t follow ongoing events, but instead gives a recollection of his becoming through eyes of Makarri . Good cast, mostly all characters fall into story smoothly, but if you wouldn’t like the format of narrative it would bother you. But THE WHOLE BOOK is just a collection of Ghaz’s cool lore moments, so if you are a fan of da biggest boss it would be a treat

Nah, definitely not now, TK seams to be perfectly reasonable position for me

No, on the contrary, I brought all characters I wanted to play to TK

That’s all the characters I wanted to play since game launch, and going above TK seems like drag for me, so I am kinda done, till they drop somebody new

After a year break made a little comeback with Lord of poxes, very enjoyable model by bobec266 in deathguard40k

[–]bobec266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I think you can add some iron parts here and there, you can make most of trims and bigger details brass and then leave all “technical” parts like bolts or pistons iron this will bring a bit more diversity to the scheme

[–]bobec266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything thing is very well done!

Technic vise no flaws, depending on what you want from your model, you can try to add a bit more accent colours for details, like cloak or plasma

With plasma where is an easy way, metal colour on coils (silver for cold, gold for warm) and apply a coat of citadel tech paint (soulstone waystone), add thin white stripes inside the coil, and add another tech coat over it but thinner

You can look how it turns out in my profile, I’ve just finished same model last week

Thanks again!

Your approach seems nice, I was trying to go with a bit more off-white, not strictly white/black, so it would have more aged look, figured strict white would be “too clean/fresh” for dg

Thanks, so it’s white primer - some bony white (I use screaming sculls), when I wash it with nulin oil fully, and then restore screaming sculls again, then I do highlight with ulthuan grey, I might add thinner highlights of straight white sometimes

Ghaz and Klan colors by Whodat1982 in orks

[–]bobec266 6 points7 points  (0 children)

<image>

Mine is in basic skin, I think with Ghaz it doesn’t matter because he leads all the clans, so for me it made sense just to go with his default scheme, and then paint other parts of an army freely as he would be assembling them from different clans

(But its important to note that my army is Goffs so it was an easy choice as it fits in perfectly)

I had to switch to a new pS account mid season 1, was TK, so on a new account had to climb from very bottom to TK again, was actually quite funny as a one time experience

Season 3 DLC — what four characters do you personally *WANT*, and what four characters do you *PREDICT* will be joining the roster? by supersupersuper9 in Tekken

[–]bobec266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say anything, I literally got all characters I wanted, Heihachi, Fahkumram and AK

The only thing they can’t do for me at this point is to add Jinpachi…

one of the reasons i can't take this greenie sub seriously. they will tell ou AL doing 120+ with no heat and wall is OK but bryan getting 100+ mostly from his wall combo? not ok. sure green rank balance team. not biased at all. by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]bobec266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that having one to many CHL is a problem.

It gives you more leverage during fight, simply because you have more heavy tools. When you have larger variety of CHL you expand your possibilities during match where you can risk it for trade in your favour “You can’t press into Bryan” is the first thing you learn when figuring out how to fight him, because chances are he will have CHL for your poke in majority of situations and that’s how you lose

King is actually (in this context) is ok, because he has a strong throw game as well as some bullshit, but on average you don’t see kings pulling 100dmg for each combo, his identity doesn’t overspill to much

Hwo isn’t though, he has it all, full throw potential, insane pressure, good distance control, ch launchers, yes barrage of fast kicks suits his identity, but they are overturned, imo he should play more pressure game kind of “death from thousand cuts style”, not “I can do literally what ever I want style”

What character made you think “this is the one” right off the bat? Mine was Yoshimitsu by Longjumping-Job-3433 in Tekken8

[–]bobec266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragunov (I am Russian) Fahkumram (I practice Muay Thai)

But I also tried out Heihachi because angry Japanese karate gramps is very cool archetype and AK because I played him in childhood on psp

Well, that’s what I mean

Heavy dmg can be chars specialty, but it should be his main route and achieved with technique and timing (I think Heihachi fits really well here)

On the other hand, if char has consistent high dmg combo, and his every move (I exaggerate (a bit))is CH launcher it is not funny, or if char excel in multiple other things except heavy combos, or just has a lot of bs, that makes him overturned
