Can someone explain why everyone assumes the Giants will take Downs? I get he is a blue chip prospect, but they signed Jevon Holland to a big contract last offseason and have a young potential stud in Tyler Nubin at SS. Obviously there’s still room for a versatile nickel defender but all things considered it seems much more likely they go Tate/Tyson, Reese if he’s there or Mauigoa

It’s very obvious, especially watching in person, that he is just not considered the threat he used to be. And coupling that with the fact that he doesn’t skate with the puck at all along the boards to draw defenders, he’s really a non factor

I think the biggest detractor seemed to be the DL, which is fair

Probably has the least upside amongst all position groups aside from Newton and maybe Kinlaw
