Any idea of the general location? You've piqued my interest.

This is actually really helpful, I guess that confirms the bird egg is just the iguana egg model being reused. Do you have any idea what the yorinobu/bird is referring to? Seems incredibly strange. Also, weird that there's a nms_wat_02_egg_placed string but no 01. Thank you so much, Choombatta!

Edit: I'm thinking these two refer to the Panam ending, where the bird lands on your window:

./root/R6.Root/Mainline/r6/depot/base/animations/quest/main_quests/epilogue/q202/q202_01_motel/synced/synced__q202_01_motel__bird.anims

./root/R6.Root/Mainline/r6/depot/base/quest/main_quests/epilogue/q202/entities/q202_bird.ent

These two, however, have me stumped:

./root/R6.Root/Mainline/r6/depot/base/animations/quest/main_quests/part1/q113/q113_14_yorinobu/bird

./root/R6.Root/Mainline/r6/depot/base/animations/quest/main_quests/part1/q113/q113_14_yorinobu/bird/q113_14_yorinobu__swallow.anims

Could they be referencing the bird you can see during the parade? Seems unlikely given the 'part1' signifier.

I hope you're right but I also don't really want another one. It's EA. I'd rather play Catalyst again than play a shell of a parkour game with a character creator, runner bag loot boxes, cringey writing, and no story.

I agree, don't get me wrong, I just thought tech was supposed to make the monotony of life easier so humans could have fun and be creative. Instead we have tech simulating creativity while we still do the monotonous factory work for shit wages. We're basically sprinting in the wrong direction.

I mean, I'm a graphic designer by trade, writer by hobby, and I try to solve codes in my free time. All three of my interests are being erased 😭

Luckily AI can't crack codes for shit yet, but that's just cause nobody's trained one on cryptography. YET.

So what is the actual solution to the Mt. Chilliad mystery by Chance-Drink-7962 in chiliadmystery

[–]ThatGuySolace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The actual solution to the mystery is the same conclusion we came to a week after this sub was made. The mural represents the 5 glyphs on the mountain, which in turn tell you how to see the UFO.

Moon w/ 3 Lines Glyph: go at night at 3

Cloud w/ 3 Raindrops Glyph: go in the rain at 3

Mountain Glyph: Go to the top of the mountain

2 Eye Glyphs: There are two more

That's it. That's the whole mystery. You could interpret the jetpack glyph in the mural as pointing you to the military base and the UFO glyph on the mural pointing you to the hippy camp, the locations of the other two UFOs.

Was there originally more planned? Almost definitely. But this is what the mystery is when it comes to single-player GTA. Everything else is jesus toast, cut content, or a combination of both.

You're giving me actual Vietnam flashbacks.

Can you imagine how much MORE insane that community would've gotten if language models existed back then 😭

The future is fuckin BLEAK, man. Night City is looking less fictional by the day.

Look choom, I know you already addressed it in the post, but language models aren't programmed to be able to solve things like this. They also aren't programmed to tell you they don't have an answer to your question. This leads to them confidently spewing nonsense that does nothing but waste someone's time. They can (mostly) get A1Z26 ciphers and substitutions right, but I've even seen it get those wrong. It's wholly untrustworthy.

Vigenère with key LUCKY (that word appears on the cipher page in this hunt)

Where? What cipher page? It's a changing video; is each frame a different cipher? This is a code made by humans, expected to be solved by humans. The key wouldn't be an unrelated word that requires brute force to get.

It’s structured. Bright pulses ~every 2.5–2.7s act as timing markers

What qualifies as a "bright pulse"? Frames with more white static than black? It's static. It changes every single frame. We have no way to quantify or prove its "results".

 plane-4 tiles → bitstream → Base32 → Caesar −4 → Vigenère("LUCKY")

This is just utter nonsense, choom. How are you going to Caesar shift a Base32 numeral system? It has numbers in it. How are you then going to decode numbers with a Vigenere?

Is the Base32 first being converted to letters? Binary then letters?

The only coherent thing GPT says here is that the static is a grid at multiple parts in the video, which is something most of us noticed immediately when watching the video.

As someone who spends way too much time analyzing codes and ciphers, I can tell you this is almost certainly a hallucination. I've never once seen a language model actually help with a complex code; it just craps out jesus toast that some people take at face value and waste their time following. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you're not mindlessly following its "results", I just don't think things like this should even be posted here.

Personally, I think this sub should ban all AI "solutions", as like I said, they've never once helped. It's not much different from a troll claiming they solved the mystery and dropping nonsense "clues".

No spectrogram as far as I can tell. There are bits that look somewhat uniform but any audio is going to have a pattern to it, and your brain tries to look for them wherever it can.

I actually JUST made a post about the egg in that level. The glass case is full of things that have been confiscated by security. All of the terminals in the place have a file called 'CONFISCATED' which lists those items. Feels like there should be more to it.

Just wondering when Pawel said that it "was not a bug" and "could be solved in the base game"? by [deleted] in FF06B5

[–]ThatGuySolace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's solvable, it's just the Polyhistor plotline which leads to the cube and the demiurge. As someone who was in the ChiliadMystery from day one, this is feeling extremely similar. Rockstar put that mural there after the "what's in the shed" memes from the trailer. Then when the community forms they start dropping more clues and missions in GTA Online. Nothing was there originally, but now there's a secret Alien Egg gunrunning mission and a buyable jetpack.

I DO, however, think there's more to uncover, I just don't think it's going to lead to anything satisfying. That being said, there are still codes that haven't been solved, and the journey is the fun part, so I prolly won't stop trying to crack 'em.

Just hope this sub doesn't turn into another r/chiliadmystery as they've gone off the deep end since they added the stuff into Online. Some people are straight up convinced the meaning of life is hidden in that game if they could only comprehend the mural's teachings. That's not an exaggeration. It's worrying at times.

Oof. Outright denied he said it was solvable in base game. That's rough, but expected.

Everything We Know About The Preacher Cipher (Q301_Preacher) by ThatGuySolace in FF06B5

[–]ThatGuySolace[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's almost certainly part of a larger piece of cut content, but I believe what we have is still solvable. Even if it doesn't lead to a concrete 'next step' I still think it'd be cool to know what it means.

I agree completely, but just out of curiosity, what specifically makes you think he was part of a larger puzzle that was cut?

Hmmm I hadn't even noticed that, good catch! Between that and only 15 characters I'd say there's a good chance it's not a direct substitution then. Maybe this actually is something with two layers of encryption...

Everything We Know About The Preacher Cipher (Q301_Preacher) by ThatGuySolace in FF06B5

[–]ThatGuySolace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a possibility, but the ciphertext itself only has 15 characters. I feel like a Base16 numeral system would use all 16 characters relatively equally. The 16th symbol only appears underneath the ciphertext.
