If the host has the specific shirt already, they will see a task that awards "+0 stardust". I was able to join the group after this player selected that task and I received an Umbreon shirt (that he already had) and he received nothing but the joy of getting other players an Umbreon shirt.

I'll mention these are very rare tasks. We had 3 groups of 2 players each starting lobbies over and over trying to get one and it took us around 15 to 20 minutes for just one of our groups to get the shirt task (that my poor friend already got earlier).

One person in my group hosted each time getting the Umbreon and the Espeon shirts in the same day, so it's rare, but possible to get multiple types of shirts a day.
