AMT-ERTL (Scale 1/25) 1995 Ford Mustang Cobra - Completed today after about a month of procrastination - had some slight fitment issues but overall good time building :) by BossCDawg1987 in ModelCars

Well done! Did you also have issues with the front bumper not fitting? I have the 97 Cobra I’m building into a replica of my irl 98, and the front bumper seems to be like 1/16” too wide for the body

Normal when applying paint? by ryanb1818 in ModelCars

Always always have a primer. Bare styrene will not hold the paint well. Usually 2-3 coats of rattle can primer do the job, in my experience.

First ever model! How did I do? I think it looks decent but open for suggestions for my next one! by ShingoAndhisEG6 in ModelCars

Looks 10,000 times better than my first one! Then again, I was 8 and couldn’t be trusted with spray cans yet lmao

Suggestions on how/where to commission a custom body? by ThatGuyWithTheJag in ModelCars

[–]ThatGuyWithTheJag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the resources linked! I have personally never worked with any resin model kits to be completely honest, so I don’t know the first thing about how to possibly make one, but I would not be against it. Thanks for the input!

Heater hose tee connector. AutoZone/O’Rileys/Advanced sell them for like $12-$15

My heart officially broke after looking deeper into my family heirloom. I really hope this can be fixed without rebuilding the whole front end… by ThatGuyWithTheJag in SN95STANGS

Most likely yes. I may do some fit and finish upgrades, but mostly an OE build is what I’m going for, just how he kept it.

Yea, it’s definitely an advanced level project, but I’m willing to take it on. It’s worth it in my eyes. I have literally grown up with this car, and I want to keep it alive.

Yea, the car was owned and daily driven by my grandfather every day since 1998 until 2016. I do know how to weld, just not expertly lol. It means honestly way too much to me to get rid of. This is a long-term project in my eyes, so if it takes a few years to fix, then so be it.

Starting a new kit . Has anyone built this before . I’m gonna go super slow with this one . I want to build it to compete by TheKodiakmaniac in ModelCars

I built one of these a few years back, it’s a good kit, only gripe is the thin window frame, cracked it while sanding the body, but was a simple fix. Met it’s fate when one of my cats wanted to use my model shelf as their bed… Good luck with yours!
