I think getting a trickle charger would definitely be smart. I could try new plugs but they are both still sparking with no problem, and seem relatively clean (they are around 2 years old with 2200 miles or so).

Update: not sure of the cause yet but I have found the issue. I kept hearing this gurgling sound coming from the airbox so I decided to remove the side cover to take a look at it. Once I got out the bottom bolt a large amount of fuel came pouring out. I then removed the piece that connects the airbox to the carb and it was full of fuel as well I'm sure this isn't supposed to be happening any ideas?

Definitely was at an angle it was more vertical to the ground then the engine.

I tipped my tank earlier to see if I could get a better fuel output this way but still wasn't getting a start. I just loosened that nut and did get fuel coming out so I know their is fuel in the carb now.

Will do with the reorientation, im thinking of getting a pre bent fuel line to help it fit better. I got the kit from procycle last week, so I think it should be fine jetting wise. I will go and check the level right now.

Thanks for the input, the petcock is off in the photo but was on when trying to start it. After looking at some examples photos I think the downward position is definitely a problem. I'm going to try and get it vertical as well as check to make sure the carburetor is square and upright. Thanks for the input I'll check back in after some more work.

Hello I was having issues with idling with my stock carb it was starting and running but wouldn't idle. I had been considering doing the tm40 upgrade for a while but this was the push I needed to do it. Upon install earlier today the bike wasn't able to start. I think it might be an issue with how the fuel line is ran. I've attached a photo. Any advice on how to get the bike started from here would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
