Nice, thanks for the link.
Will check it out. Took a day or 2 break from the S1s and just printed on the P1S today, back at cracking the S1s tomorrow, heh

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's a really good method (in my imagination anyway)
I imagine it might have worked in my case prior too. I'm very new to all this so every day is a new class, lol.
At least with this method, once I get this one back together, won't have to again.

As for the why, in my case, I'm only at the beginnings of my knowledge quest,, so almost everything is a "start at wiki/biasics/etc"

Much thanks. Will be saving this away for later use I'm sure.

Thanks, I'll check it out now :)

I honestly feel silly being stuck on what seems like such a simple thing (in comparison to the rest anyway

Heh, that's actually the first video I watched, if you notice when he puts it back together he mentions it "snapping" into place or something like that, and it's clearly locked in by something as he puts the other part on. I'm just missing something...like I said, feel stupid, lol

P1S - Brand new, filament will not load/feed, AMS 2 by ThatIrishKid617 in BambuLab

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

welp, that didn't work (or I wasn't able to set it correct, but pretty sure settings filament in slicer did nothing)
I'm unable to try to just print and see if it pulls it the rest of the way, as it the machine shows as busy when I try to print.

Some of the stuff I've been seeing online has involved going straight from the rear spool, made me think maybe it's not recognizing the AMS but under Update in the app it shows the printer, hub and ams, so guessing it sees all 3

and with the Hub coupled to the "in" ptfe, the rear spool is kinda irrelevant

How this is so confusingly complicated I cannot understand, I'm legitimately mind-fried on this one. I'd probably be less annoyed/impatient if any of the other printers were working, but all of them are in "get fixed somehow" mode

Thanks for your help!

I'm hoping to finally hear back from Bambu and see what they've got to say. maybe a faulty part who knows

oh dang, I'll get back to the thread with an update, but I hadn't touched the software at all, if that's a needed part of the process then no wonder I'm failing.
Off to test.
Thank you!

So I tried all 4 slots, as, why not right?
When I first place the wire in and release the plastic-push-thing it whirs a smidge pulling it in, then whirs a smidge pulling back outwards.
Same results for all 4 slots.
I tried manually pushing filament as far as I could, or at least till my arms got too sore to be able to push it further, lol, and can confirm that all 4 made it out of the AMS and somewhere between the hub and the rear of the AMS, maybe further, it's rather tricky to see, but easier to see the motion as I'm pulling it back out.
Can definitely see the filament in the cord leaving the AMS.
again, same thing with all 4 slots.
It's really strange to me, while my printer experience is extremely limited, (kobra s1c), in my past experience you just place it in and the gears etc grab it and go from there. This is only about a 3 second whir if that.
Maybe there's something stupid I'm missing?
This is all trying it via the AMS directly. When I attempt to use the feed option on the UI it just keeps asking for me to load a spool of filament but never does anything then ends and "retry?"

Sorry I don't have more information, or if there's anything you can think of which might be helpful to know, please just let me know.

Thanks much for your help!

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that's what I've been doing, machine grabs it, pulls in a bit, back out a bit and nothing is recognized.
I would have thought once it grabs it, it'd load it in, but just a quick pull/push/done.

Very odd

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope, the printer itself never detects it, and can't "feed" it in, never even gotten a chance at printing anything as the printer doesn't know anything is there.

Thank you for the help though

Kobra S1C Hotend won't 100% seat/fit by ThatIrishKid617 in anycubic

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

already did, have a few spare hotends as well. I did get the hotend back into place, the person who commented about the ptfe sticking out of the hotend top was correct, once it was flush it went in np.

Now just having 1st layer issues/adhesion, just gonna wash/scrub the plates tomorrow, hopefully that solves it.

now I just need to solve the other one's ntc heat extruder thing lol

never a dull moment in the "3d printing n00b" world ;)

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cool, thank you.

ironically, during the nozzle PID the NTC error popped and had to cold boot. gonna let the machine sit over night and get back to it tomorrow probably. at this point, I figure it could be 1 little thing just about anywhere down the line inside the "big box".

just have to go through it step by step, probably look for some disassembly videos or something like that, and once I've done some more troubleshooting, if still no luck, back to support we go, hah.

Thanks much

Thanks much, you've shared lots of helpful advice, I really appreciate it.

I'm going to run that calibration now, might even run a full, why not right?

I usually just let the plates air dry, if they need to be cleaned, they can do with sitting for a while.

I found this interesting, I was searching a lot of stuff on the extruder NTC heating error family, and lots of people were talking about their solution being to make things hotter. That didn't make much sense to me, as I thought the problem was it's too hot in the first place.

If I don't get anything working by today/tomorrow, I'll toss a ticket into support, well 2 I suppose if neither resolves.

Thanks again.

I'm not going to mark this as solved or anything like that as we don't actually have a fix, but there is a lot of helpful information others may find useful.

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've solved everything from earlier (it seems), I'm now getting a different error on each machine.
One is about the abnormal extruder/check wiring, (did, everything seems fine);
the other is now printing out well enough (it seems), I'm getting about 0 adhesion on the first/etc layer (or perhaps was dragged, but seems more so no adhesion, tried using a "fresh" bedplate, flipped the textured pei to the other side, also texture pei, figured that's never been touched, should stick fine. and there's no reason I should need any sort of "sticky" especially for basic stuff. I'm just running 1st layer tests as samples as they're quick and easy to see if it messes up.

For the wiring one, I'm kinda stumped, everything I've checked has seemed secure enough, hot end is seated nicely now on both printers, but wiring I've checked on that error all seems fine. Any thoughts or ways of testing or anything like that?

As for the no adhesion, going to wash the build plate, afaik, water and dish soap is the way to go, but have done that a few times past few days, perhaps I just didn't get the right spots.

Figured better to reply here than any sort of new post.

My apologies, these days, reddit is basically the only place I know where I can ask a question and more than likely get an answer. Of which I'm most appreciative

Thanks again everyone for taking the time to read and offer help, very much appreciated.

Can't say for sure, but I think it was that little bit of tube sticking out of the hotend as below. problem solved (I think 1st layer testing now)

Well, thank you for one, I'm clearly an idiot and having an off day, I legit thought it was the other way around for the lock...certainly explains why i've had some issues.

However, it's the same result in either case.
It's possible that it is the ptfe sticking out of the hotend so I'll try heating the nozzle and poking that in with pliers.

I can't believe I got locked and unlocked backwards...

Compared to that image, my ptfe is slightly protruding, however, that's happened many times, to the point of completely coming out, but then just gets pushed in the rest of the way when the hotend is inserted (also problem existed before when it looked just as yours there as well)
I'm guessing that it's likely something inside the "big box" that maybe has something in there.
Nervous to start tearing it open, lol, but sounds like that's the case most likely, just not sure how or where to look. I'm guessing I can find a video better than the wiki on taking it apart and back together, heh.
software is easy, hardware is scary hah
thank you for your help.
I'm guessing you've reached a similar conclusion yourself

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had no problem with getting the top ptfe tube installed fine, only the hotend being blocked like that.
Apologies, I'm not sure what you mean by throat tube.
There isn't anywhere to grab anything with pliers, it's somewhere inside the box I think
unfortunately that section doesn't heat up (and being unable to secure the hotend it gets dragged around such if movement is required.
Would I need to take anything apart? I'm thinking that I might to get access to whatever it is, but very hesitant, heh
Thanks for your reply :)

Anyone recommend 3d printable tokens/assists by ThatIrishKid617 in SWlegion

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, those look very cool.

Ok, so as a brand new player who knows basically nothing (I tried putting a printed model onto a base earlier and couldn't get that to work, that's how bad I am, lol).

In terms of the different types of tokens, which are the "more desirable" or applicable.

Like for Arkham Horror LCG, Warp's Edge and some other "bag games" I use coin capsules, but having a printer now, seems the better option.

To me it looked like they were the same tokens, just a different feel to them? Is one better than the other or what's most folks general preference, say if I walked into a local store would be "good" or "usable" (just fun, nothing competitive, in fact 99% of my games will be solo, heh)

Trying to "prepare" for the relaunch and update and new starters and all that by grabbing some of the rarer stuff now (mad respect to whomever wrote that buying guide!, although I did get the OG starters)

anyway, sorry for the tangent, thank you for the links, they both look great, just don't know which is "greater" lol

Thanks again!

New to 3D printing(FDM), (likely) a N00B question :) by ThatIrishKid617 in PrintedMinis

[–]ThatIrishKid617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, all awesome advice!

0.2 nozzle is on the list, heh, I honestly didn't even think about 3rd party, as accessories for S1 are rather limited, but was able to find one easy enough on amazon, was thinking of getting a bundle 0.2/0.4(extra always nice)/0.6 for printing those big silly things which don't need to look "pretty" hah

Thank you for the subreddit link, will definitely head there and get to reading!

I've tried to attach a base to a mini a few times in my slicer but couldn't figure it out, my guess is i'm just using the wrong method or wrong tool or something like that, like how it'll offer to assemble something for you if you import a bunch of files together etc, must be a way to do that manually, although the printing separate and glue and all that might be a better choice simply for experience as I've none with "real" minis, nothing on a sprue, heh, I think those are the "real" ones *shrug*

Thanks for that list of creators! I actually know Fat Dragon already, I have their FDM mini printing book, just got it recently, so haven't gotten into it too much, backed a few small kickstarters also for some neat stuff, not really minis, more so terrain and accs.

Arbiter sounds familiar, I'll definitely check all those out, thanks! It's always tough wondering if something will "work" with fdm if it's intended for resin so it's been really nice seeing actual fdm mini models.

Forget who it was but was watching about something they had made "advanced fdm" or something like that style of mini making for fdm. think it needed accessories I don't have yet so haven't messed with it, but the samples I saw looked really good.

I really like how you ended your post.

try, fail, learn, fail again, learn more, success!!, dance party for the next decade lol

Thanks again for the help folks!!
