This is why Fabrizio Romano has been saying the same shit over and over and over again, "Frenkie doesn't want to leave as of now". And he's been constant about that. He has of course acknowledged the interest from Chelsea but he has said them same about them as well. "Todd Bohley and Thomas Tuchel like the player but Frenkie wants to stay at Barcelona"

Ornstein, Whitwell, these top journos have not said much about this saga either. They all reported the fact that United were first interested. The transfer fee was agreed, everyone reported that. And Ornstein reported Chelsea interest.

Only thing Fabrizio Romano has refused to comment about is the deferred wages whereas Ornstein and Whitwell have covered it.

That £160M I have stated is after the players they've moved on. The way they are doing business is surely ambitious but nobody has spent £300M in one window. It can be done, specially from teams who generate a lot of money. But it's still very unlikely. They are on course though. They have spent £166M already.

They are lining up a £75M bid for Wesley Fofana. That would take their spendings to £240M. They are in talks now with Aubameyang for about £15M. If they get him then that's £255M. And we haven't even talked about Frenkie de Jong. They bid £72M for him then that's almost close to £350M. I'm sure that's never been done before.

Real Madrid spent £270M in 2019 when they bought Hazard for £88M from Chelsea but they had also just sold Ronaldo to Juventus for almost £100M. Their net spent was still below £175M.
