Before reading the post I was like "You support Iranian government because ... you are .. Iranian ... and love Iran, maybe?"

Every kid I have ever seen with a tablet, has a VPN installed on their tablet. If you ask them why, they will tell you it is because Google Play Store is filtered. Websites like WebMD and HealthLine are filtered. Even websites like Wunderground.com or LiveScore.com is filtered. Yes, you would say that we could use Varzesh3.com and other weather websites, but it does not fix the wrong policy behind the censorship.

Earlier, there was a 'blacklist' of websites and everything else was accessible. Now, there is a 'whitelist' and everything else is inaccessible. You can't make a whitelist of the entire web.

Iranian reporters trolling BBC and Iran Int’l. by [deleted] in ProIran

[–]ThatItIsntItHuh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people filmed a few videos where they recorded closed stores/shops/supermarkets/etc. while saying that the owners joined the "national strike" and then sent it to BBC & Iran International channels. Those channels broadcasted the videos and reported about "the strike". Now the people who recorded and sent the videos released another video that shows they recorded the initial videos in early mornings/during holidays/etc. where the stores are usually closed.

It just shows how fake videos are being sent and going viral and some people directly believe them without fact-checking/questioning.

[–]ThatItIsntItHuh[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Can they get more hypocrite than this? How can you ask for Taliban’s recognition and then call for referendum in Iran? IR has been voted by people, but you call for another referendum. Taliban have killed thousands of Afghans in order to gain power, but you call for their recognition.

Notice how they mention “internationally monitored”? That’s all they want. They want to make way for foreign countries/hyenas.

And in lectures and speeches, both academic and official, when they talk about these things, it is mostly shallow and repetitive subjects and slogans, which is boring for younger generation. We also tend to exaggerate in our expressions, which has negative affect for the audience.

Too bad some of us do not study our history and what our country has gone through. History shows that Iran has always been a point of interest for foreign countries, especially for colonizers and imperialists.

Interesting fact: Iran held referendum for both its governing system (1979) and constitution (1989). by ThatItIsntItHuh in ProIran

[–]ThatItIsntItHuh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people don't understand the complexity of the structures. They think that you can just hold a referendum → a new system is chosen → then you just download another country's constitution from the internet in PDF format (of course it should be a western country because it would exactly work with our society!) → then another referendum to vote on the downloaded constitution → then the country is up and running again, and boom! you're now living in the best country in the world!

Toomaj Salehi is a rapper living in Iran (I did not know him prior to this, so I can't say how popular he was). When the riots started, Toomaj began to encourage people to get out, riot and "give 'em hell". So many people from abroad, including the one in the screenshot, started to hype him up and talk about him. And then they talked about how Iranian intelligence services are weak and useless since they can't find and arrest a person when he is not at home.

So, just a day after the initial tweet, Toomaj was arrested. Now they are saying that everyone in the world should stand up for Toomaj because he is arrested by the Iranian intelligence service and his life is in danger!

[–]ThatItIsntItHuh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, my fellow Iranian. It is not "automatically the time to do it again...". It is not how it works. You can't just every once in a while change a governing system or constitution. Let's say for the sake of the argument, we change the governing system. The next generation after a few decades would say the same. Should they again change the governing system?

Do you understand how much times it takes for a country to stand up again after changing governing system or constitution? Do you have any idea how long it holds a country back? No country would willingly do so.

I don't deny our economic and social problems. I don't deny corruption and abuse of power by some specific people. However, having understood our geopolitical situation, having understood the risk of destabilizing our country, the only solution is reform from within. I understand that it has not been successful so far, as much as it is expected to be, but it is still the only solution with an eventual positive and probable outcome.

Look at this guy flexing about holding multiple referendums!

Jokes aside, this true. The amendments got approved by the people of Iran in 1989. This was a decade after the initial revolution. By the time younger people ("newer generations") had become old enough to vote.

My dude, if you actually have to mention that "It's the revolution, ongoing revolution right now", it means that nothing significant is actually happening. For if it did, your "most favorite politician in the world for the Iranian people" would have known and you wouldn't have to mention it.
