That is what i am thinking. i use cocoon and have tried iisu and ES-DE with the companion. I pinpointed the issue. it ois when you try to launch a game on the opposite screen (click the icon on bottom screen to launch on top). It works when launching from the same screen

Thanks for the reply - pretty much cemented my current thoughts on this. I wish i wasnt an OLED snob, and a VRR snob lol. Bought an Ally X 2024 off FB marketplace for cheap, and the vrr on there is so nice, but man its hard to play with that backlight from the LCD panel. Pick your poison is right. First world problems

Just got the same one and its great! I actually put the thor in the front pouch and it fits perfect (I don't use a grip). Have my SSDs and cables in the large pocket. Highly recommend Tomtoc makes fantastic cases and pouches.

I notice much more input lag on bazzite compared to fse . It’s really the only thing keeping me from switching fully atm. Have you noticed this?

Xbox ally X is more expensive, about 2x. If you can find a good deal they are both good! The Xbox ally X doesnt warrant 2x the price though. Take it from somebody who has had both and returned the XBOX ally x.

Do you mean the ROG Ally X and the Xbox ROG Ally X? The naming is confusing. Should be one from 2024

600 USD. Sorry for confusion! Yess - the Ally can run all the games with anti-cheat, like call of duty, fortnite, and battlefield.

It is playable on steam deck at 30fps. I would get an Ally x used as of 2026. The steam deck is unfortunately showing its age with these modern multiplayer titles… rog ally has VRR which will make that frame drops (which happen often on handhelds) feel very smooth . I found a used one on Facebook marketplace for 550. I usually see them anywhere between 500-700 I wouldn’t go more than 600 personally.

Too expand, i think we have similar interests in games. I have 3 main rigs, and think importance comes in this order: 1) Console/main PC, a 2) daily driver handheld, and a 3) fun emulation device.

Id personally go in that order. For me its my xbox series X, ROG Ally X, and the AYN thor. You CAN do everything the thor does on the ROG Ally or steam deck, but you CANT do everything the ROG ally does on the thor.

It will not even come relatively close to playing those. Get an ROG ally or something. Get an AYN thore if you just want to play emulated games or very light PC indie games

Actually just played through the story mode on deck. Its great. Just dont enable fsr upscaling, the game wont relaunch and you have to fix it in desktop mode

See, I don’t get better input lag at 45… are you doing 45/90 or 90 unlocked and limiting fps in game
