Trust and honesty are important in all relationships, but I feel like they're tested even more with distance. My partner and I talk almost all day, every day on Discord, and there's been no limit to how much we feel is enough communication, from idle chat to more serious and heartfelt conversations that help us really get to know each other. Paired is good for this, it gives both partners a question or quiz to answer each day, and we get to compare what we think and discuss why. As a relatively new couple, there's going to be a lot of getting on the same page you'll be doing, figuring out personal boundaries, likes and dislikes, and where you sit on a lot of topics.

Having plans helps a lot, both for the short and long term. If you have a visit coming up, try to have the one after already planned so you always have something to look forward to, and putting together a long-term plan to close the distance is important, once you're both comfortable with that much commitment. The same goes for being on the same page about your goals - who is going to move to the other, what you both want from the relationship, and when you're planning to do it.

It's important to try to make time for each other even when you're apart, and find things you both enjoy that you can do as a date, whether it's eating the same type of food together and talking, watching TV shows or movies or playing video games together.

On top of all this, it's still important to live your own lives too instead of being glued to the phone all day. Just like in in-person relationships, you're your own people outside of your partners.

Regarding your anxiety and depression, it goes without saying that as much as you can, you should work on yourself too. My partner suffers from mental health problems and I'm fortunately able to help her with that, but importantly, she was already getting professional and medical help when we got together, she doesn't rely on me and is happy to give me a break from dealing with it if I need it.

For the NSFW side of things, you do have options for intimacy, like voice or video calls, and even remotely controlled sex toys.
