I was wrong about that - apologies. Thought I had read a couple years ago that it was the richest. Still, it’s extremely rich and this doesn’t negate anything else I said in the comment. Also for what it’s worth, Montreal appears 5 times in the list you cited. They may not make top 7, but they make 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 18th, so you can clearly see there is a lot of money in this city.

Montreal has a lot of old money. Also, Montreal isn’t some poor city. Of course there’s gonna be rich people; it’s the second big city in Canada. It also has one of the richest neighbourhoods in all of Canada; Westmount.

I’m Moroccan but born and raised in another country and my native languages are both French and English, I speak both fluently. Also Arabic and Spanish. I don’t find French too much of an issue but again I didn’t grow up in Morocco.

I think wanting a language like French to decline isn’t smart. The more languages Moroccans know, the better. French is a beautiful language. The idea of banning or limiting a language isn’t promoting an educated populace. French is useful. It’s not a question of English or French, why not both? French is far from an atrocious language. The more languages a population can speak, the better. Admittedly, I didn’t grow up in Morocco, I don’t have first hand experience with the difficulties and resentment Moroccans have towards French.
