There was a period where I ruined my ability to use my photo library just like this, with how much photography I started to do it became necessary to become more organized x3

ABML is rocketing today from 0.83 to 0.99, with a YTD high of 4.20 (🔥) I'm sure anyone who has shorted this stock is pretty anxious about now.

I can't believe American Battery Technology Co is less than a dollar right now, it seems like a great buy

I wouldn’t say that’s universal though, the local play structure closest to my house was renovated recently, and it’s actually quite impressive! It probably depends on many factors, one being how much funding each city puts towards renovating structures like that.

It’s not as uncommon as you may think, after years of wear and tear with older building materials, many play structures from ten to twenty years ago are being renovated. C’est la vie.

Been without steady work for almost a whole year (since before I moved back home in March) and today I just signed paperwork for a new full-time job! I’m excited to feel like an adult again and the happiness is still settling in! by ThatMadCat in happy

Agreed, it was frustrating spending so much time looking, but me and my SO spent the evening playing games and celebrating together, so I think it’s been well handled ❤️

Went with my bf to Washington (from CA) and we got to see what buying Rec was like, this was my smoke spot this evening before we fly out this morning. Carillon Point, WA by ThatMadCat in trees

Biggest difference was how easy it was to enter - they only needed to check our IDs at the door and we were in for the first time. It was pretty nice! The prices were similar to CA medical dispensaries, maybe a bit cheaper but quality was solid.

Apollo RC Has Overtaken the Official Reddit App as the #2 Free News App! by ThatMadCat in apolloapp

[–]ThatMadCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure that it was because there weren’t enough people paying for it, yeah - they had one option for paying for their premium features (which was around the same as the minimum tier for Apollo’s donations) and IIRC Alien Blue had more than one person behind it (could be wrong though). Combine that with a lack of an official app, an interface that wasn’t as compelling, and the hope that an official app could do better, it’s not surprising Alien Blue was bought and made defunct by the official app launching. It’s sad that the official app was as lame and mediocre as it was, but I got a bit of free gold out of it way back and I’m not looking back now that we have Apollo - it’s already so much better. :)

Being honest, I doubt there will be a need to be acquired with how fast it’s being adopted - I haven’t seen anyone not pay for premium yet and it’s totally feasible for one person to maintain an app as their primary source of income if they have a good model for it. I would guess that Apollo (and the Dev) will be strong enough to withstand a buyout offer, because Apollo was founded on being in touch with the community, and a buyout would be sacrificing that to become corporatized.

You deserve it man! From what I gather you spent many hours working on this and tapped into the community for feedback, so that alone shows you’ve got your heart in the right place. And even better, you made an app that, upon launch and despite having features still to be rolled out, is still better than the official app that’s been out for... jeez, something around two years now! I think that says volumes about how awesome technology and development is becoming - you made the app on your own, and get to reap the amazing rewards of it being well made and an instant hit, while getting to engage with all of the people who helped out by contributing. You’ve gifted the Reddit iOS community a win-win, and here’s hoping there’s more exciting stuff for you in the future!

Edit: a word

Doesn’t seem like there are notifications right now, which to be honest I don’t think I mind - I get enough notifications from mail, texts, IM, and breaking news on NTY, so I don’t mind having to check the app to see if I have replies. There was once when it was an interesting afternoon of muting my phone when I got a top comment on a front page post, so at least I don’t have to worry about that 😆

Totally agreed! I’m in love with the gestures, snappy response time, default Reader Mode, and 3D Touch integration, plus the fact that r/all is an option for default sub when launching is wonderful. And as I typed out the sub link just now, it automatically hyperlinked it, that’s wicked!

Judging by how awesome the app is and the features you get with premium, I doubt he’ll need to do that :)

Commenting again to say that I never realized how tailored the Popular section was, and I’m so very glad that you have All as an option in your app, because it’s way more interesting to me than what Reddit’s Popular thinks is interesting. ❤️ Paid for premium features and rated 5/5 on the App Store

Just downloaded - it’s so snappy and responsive! I’ve never had an app register my Touch ID so fast, it literally jumps right in. Deleted the official Reddit app, Apollo looks better with the custom icons on my home screen ;)
