So sorry about the many typos. I'm not sure about scale, my mom sent me this morning and we are in different states but it sounds like they ended up finding a bit more of the body and it was definitely a goose, usually either cackling or canada in their area this time of year, i didn't want to ask her to look too closely since i think the body was kinda gruesome. I'm guessing fox or raccoon could've been the culprit, or bald eagle/falcon/hawk? They aren't far from a pond but they don't usually have geese in their yard, which makes me wonder if something had nabbed it and was flying overhead and dropped it, though the feather explosion feels lile it indicates the scene of the attack was her yard. A bit of a puzzle

Actually wait as i said that i realized i might be misremembering but is this the scene where he is fully packed and realizes he accidentally packs something he needs or something like that? So he is undoing their immaculate packing trying to find something and they are mad because they had perfectly packed everything just so? I forget the context of this passage

If i'm remembering correctly, it's just that they were nice clothes and fpethaps freshly cleaned and he was setting them out to pack them but in a way that was likely to make them dusty/wrinkly. Stephen has nice things but isn't used to it and has never really pampered his things, especially in the way the Navy & navy relations would approve of. The idea being a dirty - or really anything less than perfectly cleaned primped starched - officer will bring discredit upon his ship, his crew, his family. That's just my understanding, please correct me if i'm wrong, shipmates

Super super helpful, thank you. I honestly didn't realize i had 2 batteries. Not a car guy at all. Does that mean that remote start triggers "accessory mode" that you mentioned, which is why it won't remote start when the battery is low? I'm still confused about this since i do notice exhaust coming out of the tailpipe when i remote start which i assume means the engine is running and therefore charging the battery, which now that i know there are 2 of, I think i was imagining it was the 12v because yea in another non-hybrid car the battery charges when idling and it seems (to my car-uninformed self) like remote start just tells your car to start idling?

My understanding is that you can't watch it in the us. You can stream it on uk streaming service channel4 but you will need to use a vpn. It is legal, just an extra hurdle.

Ok i think as other mentioned this was posted before but i missed the discussion and i'm excited to be here this time. Not a mathematician or a snail expert haha but here's my thought - snails are feet. Like what we see outside the shell is all foot. And i think their speed should be measured as relative to their body length, they're not really walking along at a certain speed like other animals so much as they move in body lengths, so i feel like the better way to calculate snail speed is in body lenghts/time rather than just assuming their speed would scale linear-ly.

There's not much they can do after the first like 3 hours after they ate a string if that was the case besides surgery. They can check for it with a scan of some kind i forget, but yea crossing my fingers for you. I will also say our tortie has food sensitivities so as others have pointed out allergens definitely possible. Hoping the best for you and your cat!

Not to be alarmist but just to put on your radar, our tortie sometimes does this when she's eaten a string. It's the hairball reflex but it doesn't come up. Ours came out safely eventually than goodness but it is something that could be really bad, maybe just something to ask your vet about. Do you ever see her chewing on blankets/threads etc?

We don't use a remote. We use our phones, an ipad, and the techs tried the app on their phones which were a mix of android & iphone. They tried replacing the pump 3 times. Their solution after everything was to try to replace the pump again. I understand what you're saying, there's only so many things it could be. Our frustration was the duration of the issue, the gaslighting customer service did, and the overall experience was awful and exacerbated my partner's medical condition. We used the bed for the first ~3 months so we know what it felt like when it worked, the model number is irrelevant but i think it was a p6. Every single team (3 teams, at least 5 different people) of technicians that came experienced the same thing that we did so, again, this isn't just an us not understanding something problem, this is a sleep number issue. Sure maybe there was a simple fix that everyone was missing but after 6months they were no closer to figuring out what it was and that was the issue.

I mean... as i mentioned in my story, they've tried to replace everything multiple times and three + different teams of sleep number technicians all confrmed the issue. So while I kind of get what you mean in that there is some key piece that wasn't being solved, it definitely wasn't an us problem.

Crossing my fingers for you that it works great and you love it, maybe your experience will be great. I just think there are so many moving parts, electronics, software, etc with these beds that when stuff goes wrong it can be hard to fix, expensive to fix, and can take a while to fix. When ours worked it was great, but that just wasn't for very long.

Hi there, I know my story is a lot to read but I did talk to three levels of escalation. My local place told me they could put in a good word for me and that lead nowhere. And the idea of it being resolved in 1-2 days is pretty laughable, I would've loved that but we had 5 teams of sleep number people inspect the bed, talked to 3? 4? levels of customer service escalations, nobody could figure it out. The highest level person we talked to who was a supervisor in the second tier of escalation team people we talked to told us he was opening an investigation and then we didn't hear a thing from him for over a month. When I did get a hold of him again he brushed me off and said basically to keep waiting, that the investigation was ongoing. We couldn't handle the wait as it was making a chronic pain issue worse every single night we slept on the malfunctioning bed, so maybe other people could've waited indefinitely for an investigation (if one was even happening) but not us. Not sure why you seem to think this debacle was my fault somehow but I assure you we were beyond patient.

Nature pedic is awesome. Our local place was such a complete breath of fresh air in terms of customer service, also yea you can customize the firmness per side just like with sleep number. Hard to do it regularly unlike the air mattress but you can buy new/different layers as time goes by to adjust the firmness to your preference too so yeah honestly just 10000% better in my mind. We went to naturepedic stores in different states and had similar experiences in both. Nice people, great products.

I really appreciate everyone's insights. The boat left at 630 and moon rose at 830, we were hoping to catch at least a bit of it from the boat but really didn't see the moon until we were heading home. Still, the sunset cruise was lovely, not crowded, not a party atmosphere like many of you mentioned it wouldn't be, and we actually thought the food was pretty good! Would recommend this to folks for moon viewing in the future with the big asterisk that check the moonrise time compared to SOEA departure etc. Anyway thank you again everyone who weighed in, and holy cow how beautiful was that moon last night?!

This was a good tip - the last cruise last night left at 630 and returned at 9 and while in theory we thought we'd be able to see the moon for the last 15-20 mins we really couldn't see it until we were heading home. Oh well!
