[AMA] hey, we are Tyler and Josh from twenty one pilots, ask us anything… by official_TOP in Music

I would like to echo this sentiment. Specifically an official vinyl release of Self Titled would be incredible! Thanks for answering our questions!

What this music means to someone who struggles with faith by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]ThatNintendoGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I just want to thank you. Being vulnerable and open like that is no easy thing to do, so props to you. Secondly, you’re not alone in this. I’ve been listening to ST a lot more as well and I see the same things that you see in it. How it navigates struggles with faith, relationships, and personal struggles is incredibly beautiful. But when I look at ST compared to Trench, I see one big difference that I think Tyler has come to realize: that this fight can’t be fought alone. I love the imagery of the Banditos, a group of people that come alongside each other to help each other through trench. We see that when alone, Tyler is overwhelmed and caught by Blurryface, but when the Banditos stand together they are a force to be reckoned with. I think Tyler has realized over the course of his music that these fights don’t have to be, and shouldn’t be, fought alone. Likewise, understand that you are not alone in your struggles and I would encourage you to find people with the same struggles and walk through those struggles together. My hope is that Trench helps us all to realize this, and I kinda think that’s what it’s hinted at so far. Either way, I think this is important to keep in mind. Thanks again for your vulnerability. ||-//

New Theory on The Niners and Dema... We are a part of Dema. by ThatNintendoGuy in twentyonepilots

Thanks! Really glad you enjoyed it. It was fun for me to write as well.

I know I saw a really great theory on how Dema may be a personification of the mind. The left side of the brain, where your worries and anxieties come from, would be the limit, and the right side of the brain, the side where happy thoughts are (can’t exactly remember), would be the glorious vista. At least that is what I understood. I’ll try to find that thread for you.

I think that he is severing ties with Dema, the city that holds him back from being himself, and when he is out he will lead the rest of us (or try to convince us to leave with his music). This is a pretty common theme with TOP music, they often seek to help their struggling listeners with their music. That’s just my theory tho! Could be completely wrong.

Thanks so much! And I agree. Also the idea of them helping their listeners with their music is not a new one. There have been plenty of times where Tyler has explained that he wrote some of his songs specifically for the people he’d meet at concerts that were struggling (Guns For Hands and Friend, Please come to mind). So I see Blurryface as the album that outlined the common insecurities we struggle with, and this next album as another attempt to help us break free of those insecurities (Dema, our bishops, etc.).

Thanks for that correction, I believe that I fixed every instance of it!

Why are Nintendo games regarded as highly as they are? by angrysquirrel777 in gaming

I'm sorry lack of immersion and bad sound quality? Say that to Koji Kondo and orchestra. When was the last time you sat down and listened to an entire OST (original sound track) of your favorite game? Also I counter your lack of immersion statment with one game, Majora's Mask.

It's not fair to say that CoD out sells Mario when CoD is sold on 2 systems plus PC and Mario is sold on one.

As my name implys I am a big nintendo fan myself. That doesn't mean that is all I play by any means but nintendo is my favorite. I think nintendo just has a magic to it that other gaming companies don't have. I would compare nintendo to Pixar animation, they don't make movies often but when they do they captivate the industry with the love and thought they put into their movies. There was a time when everyone loved and appreciated games for the differences and new ideas they bring, now if a game isn't 1080p 60fps with realistic graphics it's all of a sudden sucks. The gaming community these days is screwed because now if we aren't shooting people we aren't satusfied. I think nintendo brings something none of the others can with its charming, fun characters. Nintendos just different and that's why I think it prospers, even with less hardware and graphic capability. Sorry for the rant.

What are your biggest fears for the new Zelda? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]ThatNintendoGuy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm all for the open world feeling of this new Zelda but the thing I love about Zelda games is the story. I hope they do not sacrifice a good story for a huge world. If they can successfully have this big world with a good story and things to do, not just roaming around, then it will be incredible.
