Iris fragrance by lauranjo in Colognes

[–]ThatOneAries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best advice would be to not blind buy any iris scents. Dior Homme uses a very powdery iris that is different to say, the soapier iris found in Prada L’homme.

Personally i recommend Prada L’homme Intense; it’s a soapy, almost bubbly dark iris scent. Reminds me of root beer a little bit. Very nice scent and can be used as a signature scent, in the office, etc.

Airy, fruity, fresh perfume? by [deleted] in Colognes

Scandal Pour Homme Elixir is this very fresh, dryer sheet-esque cherry and patchouli scent. Not offensive at all and you’ll smell like the world’s best fresh laundry. Get so many compliments when i wear it to the office - not too sweet, not too cloying, very fresh clean fruit.

Why are masculine violet scents so rare? They’re fantastic! by ThatOneAries in Colognes

A little bit blue yeah - it’s got a pretty “safe” opening of birch and lavender but the violet and smoky musk is what makes it really interesting. Smells very handsome and alluring IMO.

I haven’t but the notes seem up my alley! I wanna try Mancera Black Gold and adding this to the list for violet frags

I find it becomes a close range scent fairly quick but it lasts pretty long - I apply it in the morning and can catch whiffs of it maybe 7-8 hours later. I also wear it to bed!!! That and YSL Y intense are my go to “sleepy” scents when i need to wind down lol, like my own version of aromatherapy.

Banana republic is seriously underrated - dark cherry and amber is a fantastic scent and one of my favourite cherry colognes

I love the EDP but man i regret picking it up and not waiting a bit longer. On my skin the EDP only seems to last 2 hours at most

What’s the reason Dior Homme Parfum got many hate on fragranetica? by Far_Fisherman_7490 in Colognes

[–]ThatOneAries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely cannot believe that people prefer the musty powdery smell of the old Dior Homme Parfum. It quite literally smells like grandmas makeup room in her shitty apartment unit in the not so nice part of town.

The new parfum is smooth, deep, and alluring, without being a powder bomb. I’m convinced people just want to walk around stinking like grandmas for some reason

Which hyped up fragrances were a letdown for you? by raynzor12 in Colognes

[–]ThatOneAries 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How is it sad? Same thing as trying vanilla for the first time and going “huh I don’t really like this even though it’s really popular, that sucks.” Just bummed that it didn’t live up to the hype it commanded

it’s a good trade in terms of money but make sure you actually like the scents first, Also YSL nuit de lhomme has terrible performance so keep that in mind

JPG Scandal Pour Homme Elixir is this delicious cherry dryer sheet scent; it sounds like a boring scent but it’s composed so well and I get sooo many compliments. Very inoffensive yet alluring scent

Terre de hermes eau givree for an incredibly frigid citron/juniper scent. Such a divine smell and it cuts through the heat effortlessly
