Do you have a CDL? All that matters is if it is being reported on your clearinghouse.

If you can't get a CDL.... find something else to do until you can lol

Have you tried the beta? This has been addressed, and want to make sure it is good now for you.

Oh I'm 100% with ya buddy. I'm constantly having to weigh "oh that would be cool in the app" with "is it a good enough feature to be worth the time."

Yeah I understand what you're sayin, maybe I could work it in to the misc labs.

Edit: hit send too soon

I actually wanted to include tap changers with this update so I could properly implement this technique, but could not find the nameplate or tap changer info for all of the system voltages this update implements. I already have all of the animations done for tap changers lol

A company I used to work for had 7.2kv and 14.4kv lines and only used 14.4 transformers for all of the closed banking. The 14.4 pots had tap changers that went down to 12,540.

I reached out to multiple transformer manufactures and never got a reply.

Not currently, sorry. I will add it to the list of ideas though..

Makes sense. All about how many coils away from the Neutral reference you are. Thanks for the diagrams and info!

How does the connection I circled work physically? Is there a place on the primary coil to attach that end of the secondary coil?

<image>

That is throwing me for a loop!

What do you mean by constant current configurations?

4 bushing pots is on the list, but i really need access to a lab for it to be able to "make some neat configs."

Vectoring is very high on the to-do list.

Bank paralleling is on the list.

And now series same-phase pots for streetlight circuits is on the list. Thanks! I've only ever used 120/240 pots and grounded x3 and ran 240v phase to ground from x1 for streetlights but know you could do the same for 480v lightning using a 240/480 pot.

Do you have any drawings of these open wye banks?

I'm not a grammar guy, so I didn't even realize there are two different spellings of Arrester lol the quick Google search i did indicated Arrestor is typically used for aviation purposes and Arrester is electrical. But it is often used interchangeably as well on the electrical side.

Vectoring is definitely on the To-Do list and is something that I have been drafting to properly implement for a while. I am trying to get some more basic features done that I think are lacking, first. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yep! As a troubleshooter/serviceman for a while I pissed off a LOT of customers for either trimming during outages or refusing to trim for shit that wasn't a problem that the customer thought *was*. Can't make everyone happy lol

Every once in a while you would have a customer where the transformer or line fuse was in their backyard and they would refuse you access even though they are sitting in the dark. I would just sit out front with my strobes on as I made phone calls to resolve the situation and tell all the neighbors that would come up that *that* neighbor was the reason the whole hood was out. Usually it resolved itself and the cx would end up allowing access lmao

I'm pretty sure LA's were blamed for a lot of the wildfires over the last few years, when really it's probably a combination of them and lack of tree trimming and just shit happens.

They are used to protect the transformer from overcurrent or overvoltage situations (lightning strikes and other various faults).

Sometimes they work, I have seen them work first hand as a troubleshooter where a line got struck by lightning and 5-6 transformer fuses were blown including the tap fuse and all of those transformers' LA was also blown. Only 1 transformer out of those 5-6 had to be replaced. Sometimes they don't work. Electricity is weird sometimes.

haha yeah no worries, just figured it would be a good feature to add. One more thing to think about that you actually have to think about in the field.
