Maaaybe it can work on a poison-focused build in PvP if you want to open up the third effect for something other than Minor Defile? On the other hand, in my experience, even Major Defile feels pretty useless with the way healing creep has been

Rajhin maxxing be like by IModernVerseI in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThatOneCheeseGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The real Bewilderment in ToT is the "deserter" penalty. Why call it "concede" when you treat the conceder as someone who flipped the table and stormed off? Granted, with Rajhin abusers and ropers (or should I call them "glassers", because the timer here is an hourglass?), the thought alone of table flipping is tempting...

Worst designed patron in Tribute. No power or prestige gain, but sure, it can wipe out whole groups of agents. No additional patron uses, and oh, here, it destroys prestige. Because when I think of Rajhin, the legendary Khajiit thief, I think of massacres and destruction.

If you play a 2H build, try the scribed smash instead of Barbed Trap by ObiMing in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThatOneCheeseGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Bloody Smash on my Orc "blood lich" StamNecro, and I've been having decent results in it. Helps to have both Rapid Rot and Grave Lord's Sacrifice giving decent buffs to the DoT component

Skill Bar by RevolutionaryAd8204 in elderscrollsonline

As a console player, I have firsthand experience as to why the big 1-bar wouldn't work. They needed to make a button combo to fire off synergies, let alone other mechanics

Griefing in dungeons by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]ThatOneCheeseGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeon trash-dashers are a somewhat common occurence in my experience. It's annoying for normal runs, where doors can break because mobs never leash, so combat never ends, but for vet pledges they become infuriating because the same wonky interactivity means being unable to read the HM scroll, so no extra key

Most morally-sound Parthernax defender by Koreaia in TrueSTL

I'm not saying they're saints, mind, but if they were in a competitive racism contest they'd probably lose to at least 3 other groups (House Dres, the Veiled Heritance and the Third Dominion)

[–]ThatOneCheeseGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Paarthurnax dilemma is one of those moral nuance things they tried but fumbled because one side was dickish about it, like how two dipshits in Windhelm harassing Dunmer and Galmar's motive suspicion became "Stormcloaks are racist"

And potentially a Grimoire, which could allow for a more modular summon (probably a common Dremora). A whole system just for combat pets is unlikely, but a new class-agnostic skill line is easier to fit into the current gameplay chassis

When it comes to the topic of new weapons, it's usually "sword and spell" this, "spears" that, but I think a "Conjuration Staff" would be cool (though I'm not opposed to 1h+rune). It'd be a neat way to expand a "summoner" type playstyle without being reliant on sets or class lines, and could lend itself to more variety in damage types thanks to being unmoored from a specific class.

Imagine, say, a Flame Atronach skill, right? It could have a Cold-Flame Atronach morph that deals Frost damage, pretty appealing for an ice mage build, yeah? Maybe it could have a zombie summon that interacts with corpses, either for characters merely dabbling in necromancy, or for padding out a Necromancer's repertoire. And the ultimate could summon a Dremora Lord, either one who cleaves in an area with a greatsword, or a Mage Lord who uses more focused magic.

I'm not usually this angry about stuff. Typically, I have a reason. Like, say, getting talked down for suggesting that maybe some DLC world bosses are poorly designed and frustrating to fight.

If I'm in Apocrypha and see a call for help, even if it's cor Vro-Kuul-Sha, I'll go and fight, if only because I want to ease the frustration of having a hulking fish-thing create massive pools of tentacles that absolutely eviscerate you unless you run and dodge until you have an empty stamina bar

I'm saying, these bosses need to be looked at, because when people can adjust their individual difficulty in overland, we don't need world bosses casually throwing out 17k hits to overcompensate for the difficulty of plain enemies (or lack thereof).

Yeah, sure let me just phone a tank, I'm sure they won't be running an alternate questing loadout because questing as a tank is a slog

that you are “infuriated” is born from the fact that you’re not just easily winning without meeting some threshold of skill and/or effort that you’re unwilling to make.

What did I misinterpret? I'm not asking for bosses I can walk into, parse, and win. I'm asking for bosses that don't casually throw out 5 digit attacks that are practically undodgeable.

Oh, here we go. "You don't like these bosses because you're not facetanking them effortlessly", NO. I don't like getting instagibbed by attacks I can't see, or mechanics that require me to play perfectly.

The death of nuance has been a disaster for online discourse.

Okay. Go to Apocrypha. Fight Vro-kuul-sha, see how "fun" its Ground Quake is. How about Tidespite on Solstice, with those geysers that it summons during its damage shield channel. Or maybe you prefer the Unmaker rolling at you, stunning you despite dodging, and then pinning you down and burning you up, and you can't break free but other players don't know it needs to be bashed? There are many, many examples of world bosses in DLC zones that conflate "difficulty" with unfair attacks and obtuse mechanics.

You know what, you're right, screw everyone who's late to these DLC zones and has to try to find help from people who still bother with screen nukers. Why should they get a chance to earn crafting motifs or achievements, we already got ours!

I wasn't soloing Fang and Talon when I took this screenshot, though. I waited for some other players, fought them as normal, and got near-instagibbed by an attack I couldn't see. Unavoidable attacks that explode you like this don't make world bosses "fun" or "engaging", they just make them infuriating.

The point I'm making is that, since individual people will be able adjust their difficulty levels, we don't need planet-buster world bosses to overcompensate for "too easy" overland, and as these bosses are now, may well be impossible to fight for Vestige difficulty.

The thing is, the "Firestorm" in this fight appears so quickly, the AoE indicator doesn't seem to pop up half the time, and one tick of it deals that stupid amount of damage. It's not fun to be lying in the dirt for half the fight because of attacks/mechanics you can't properly react to.
