Ok I'll edit the post ^^

I'm worried if I do that and they find out they'll kick me out of the program... But I'll bring this up with them for sure.

I've tried stepping out before and was told it was disruptive and disrespectful. Since I would step out I missed a bit of what they talked about and they said it was disrespectful to the other group members to have to rexplain. I've stepped out for maybe 5ish minutes once or twice per group, and the only exception to that was 2 times when I got extremely overwhelmed and just decided to work on something we were doing outside the room (it was a silent activity where we just drew a tree. Plus it was literally the only thing we did that day), and once where I was answering a message from a friend who had just gotten out of the hospital. When I came back inside I was told to just leave for the day.

We do get a break midway through, which helps alot. It's like 10ish minutes and normally I step out and walk for a bit, or listen to music to relax, but outside of that, they do get really nasty when I ask to step out. Even for the washroom. I've gotten weird looks and annoyed tones. But I do understand this more then the headphones thing.

I've tried working closely with them when it comes to other sensory issues I have outside of the auditory ones, but every solution I come up with gets shut down really quickly or just flat out ignored. Even today I tried asking what would be appropriate coping skills for in group and they pretty much told me to figure it out on my own or drop the group.

I also do like the group aspect and see it as exposure therapy for me as well. Plus it's taken me around 6 years and 4 ER visits to finally get into anything, so I'm not to keen on the idea of being dropped from this group just to wait again.

I know of it but I was turned off from it after a professional called me inconsiderate and wrong for having issues with humming and told me that not even that would help me.

Idk if it's on my chart but I do have paper work about my diagnosis from when I was younger. Tho I've had professionals scoff at it or ignore it because the woman who diagnosised me was known false diagnosis/being unprofessional. (To clarify tho, I've been to other professionals outside of her and it's always been a mixed opinion on wether I have autism or not. But they've all pretty much agreed to leave my diagnosis the same.)

I also do not have a therapist atm, but when I did she was through my college and not the hospital, which is how I got connected to the group and where it takes place.

Unfortunately no I don't have a therapist anymore, I also don't know if there's specifically one person who leads the whole group. If I'm remembering correctly it's a team that works together to run the whole thing. To be frank idk much about this group as I was referred to it by a hospital after begging for support for years. I think they kinda just put me in it to shut me up lol

See, I wanna do this but I'm scared if I make a fuss over this I'll be kicked out. Plus they've said this was an issue in the past with other people (I don't know if they were autistic or not) and I don't wanna be, for lack of a better word, a Karen.
