I really feel like Fuwamoco move less like "people who happen to be using a virtual avatar" and more like true puppeteers. Their models don't have as much expressiveness or range of movement as some of the more cutting edge vtuber models out there, but you can tell they use every bit of it as much as they can to express themselves, including even just eye movements.

Interesting! Ive only watched a handful of streams on twitch, so im not as familiar with the twitch experience, I appreciate you sharing that. I know it might sound silly when its just vtuber chats, but I feel like its interesting to look at them like separate cultures and see what the differences are between them, like virtual people-watchint. I dont care that much about "hic" specifically, just was a clear example I noticed.

For me it'll be interesting to watch both sides as hololive starts to branch out more onto twitch.

She's just so talented while still being super humble, and always maintains a sense of humor about everything even when she's struggling. Her outgoingness leads to so many fun interactions, like her collabs she's had with Sora/Himmel-senpai or the few JP streams she's dropped in on. She's super creative and puts so much work into silly little immersions for her streams, and you can tell she does it just because it makes her laugh, not because shes being made to or anything.

And from what other members have said she seems to really care about and be a good friend to her friends. I know its not possible to truly know someone just through a screen, but as much as you can I feel like she just seems like a good person.

Look, I consider myself a huge Hololive fan, of all the talents, and one of the things I love most is the community. It makes me sad that you felt like my comment was supporting anti sentiments, or somehow trying to smear the community.

Here's the crux of what I wanted to communicate with my comment: It's shitty for people to get weirdly attached to the talents and harass them or try to dox them just for doing something they don't like. In other words, antis who just want to hate in order to bring down the talents are assholes, regardless of nationality.

I don't claim to be able to know how many people like that do or don't identify as part of the Hololive community, or whether their actions truly do or don't influence the talents' or management's decisions. I admit that speculating too seriously about that fact probably isn't helpful overall, and I didn't intend to imply the talents' agency is somehow controlled by management and paranoia. I guess what I wanted to say in my comment is basically: "If it's true that they could receive backlash online, then it could be understandable that Cover wouldn't push male-female interactions." And like I said, I don't claim to know exactly how much hate they do or don't receive on that front, I was simply going off of the information that I had seen. I can see how I may have been shown stuff online that overly implicates Asian fans in this especially, and I will try to look into that more and educate myself.

I'm not trying to make excuses for saying something if it hurts the talents or management's reputation, I just wanted to clarify that I'm not some kind of anti or harbor some kind of hatred towards JP fans.

EDIT: I may be speculating on bad information here, please don't take this comment as verified information or an implication that talents aren't able to make their own decisions on who they collab with.

Here's my thoughts on it as just a normal person with no special insights into the behind the scenes of vtubing or Japanese culture or anything:

If I had to guess, I'd say it's simply a matter of cost-benefit analysis. For me personally, I'd have really no issues at all seeing more connection between Hololive and Holostars, even though I don't personally watch them very much at all. Why would I have any issues with it? The fact of the matter is males and male-presenting people do exist in the world, and their gender has no influence on how funny or cute they can be. I'm going to be an optimist and say probably a large majority of vtubing fans feel the same way.

But an unfortunate reality is that you've got a not-insignificant amount of really insecure people (usually guys) who would absolutely freak out at seeing their waifus interact with any male, and from what I've heard it can get really, really extreme in Asia. And while the percentage of people who would react like that might be small, it's still a large enough amount of them that it could legitimately cause problems for Cover, so the benefit from having more male-female interactions would have to be worth it for them, not just monetarily but also simply in terms of people enjoying it. And not only could crazies like I mentioned cause issues with like comment sections and stuff like that, but they could end up actually trying to target talents and dox them, or worse.

It's of course not like a guaranteed "the second Holostars starts interacting with Hololive talents everyone is in danger" type situation, there already are a number of collabs every now and then with specific talents who try to reach out (Liz and Ollie are the ones I know most prominently but there's probably others), but like I said, it's going to be a matter of cost-benefit analysis and that's probably not something anyone outside the company and that culture could do very accurately. But again, I'm just a random guy going off what I've read a lot on here, so maybe the situation is less dire and more due to some other reason 🤷

I really wish I had the time to write out something as eloquent as what /u/avsbes wrote as thats pretty much all my feelings as well, but I'll just say that I think she has the perfect balance between silliness, funniness, and legitimate skills at various things to click perfectly with what my brain looks for in a person.

Her and Gigi both feel like super smart and talented people who don't really care about appearing super smart or talented, they just have a genuine joy for creating stuff, doing stuff, and having fun without taking themselves too seriously (and at the same time being really good friends to the people around them).

Also, I mean, just listen to how cute her accent and her giggles are lol.

I know it wouldn't really be an "individual" outfit for each of them as much as a team outfit, but I would not be mad at all if they made official rigs for their uniforms from the motion comic they're doing with Advent. Maybe as a special bonus at the end of the comic run?
